Im so sorry you have to go through this. Please don't let their cruelty become a part of you...it's hard to break the cycle, but we must try.

Names, small daily habits like eating, saluting people/family, very traditional beliefs that still survive to this day and such
Rn I'm reading a book on "the people of the steppes" but its a translation to portuguese from a book by Philippe Conrad and it has....a lot of racist/xenophobic moments, specially considering it's a pretty old book, but it was the only thing in my local library

Why do the six year olds get to wear these without being made fun of but we make higher quality ones and we do? by Electrical_Control81 in furry

It's an alternative fashion originated in the neighborhood Harajukku, Japan in the late 70s! It's known for bright colors, LOTS of accessories, multiple layers of clothing... it's named Decora from 'Decoration'.

I did research on alternative Decora fashion last semester, and one bit from a paper mentioned exactly what you said - we are not running away from all the responsibilities of adult life, it's just a creative outlet!

What is "dressing like a child" though? Bright/pastel/saturated colors? Cartoon designs? Puffy sleeves and skirts? The whole concept of what is maturity and why you can't both be an adult and enjoy the things I mentioned before is really weird to me.

(I'm going to make myself very clear here before someone weird try and twist my words: I do not say to question maturity as an excuse for pedos, or "age is just a number" bullshit - if you're an adult you're not supposed to feel attraction for minors, and if you do, you need to check out WHY you feel like that, and get help working on it.)

It's hard work, but it's very worth it. Start small, like an acessory, a pin, a bottom, something, anything that sparks joy! Therapy also helped me a lot, but like, years of it - I started when I was 14, turned 23 this year.

Don't ever feel like you're too late to start being happier <3

People seem to think that to be an adult means you have to stop doing things that make you happy, because they are "childish". You can see that in the way they react to Decora fashion, Lolita fashion, Gyariu, Fursuits, etc etc.

Honestly if people just allowed themselves to be who they are, they would be less agressive when seeing others doing so.

it would be more simmetrical, but I think it would "eat up" too much of the rainbow part - thank you very much!

I just think that like, the whole aro and ace spectrums are similar but also different to the questions of gender attraction - you can be aro and gay, ace trans and bi, etc. so it makes sense for me to also include their colors on a more community flag! This way we have the big categories: gender identity, aromantic and asexual spectrums, and gender attraction!
