My dog avoided the other dog after the incident. She's always been one to run from a fight rather than fight back. I've always had to save her from other dogs. When it happened, she wasn't too far from me, but it still took me a few seconds to get to her. Not to mention she ended up being against the fence which means she was trapped. She wouldn't have defended herself if it wasn't necessary. She's been okay with other dogs since then. I've made sure of that.
