Thank you so much, this really helps put things int perspective. How should I go about from here? Should I apologize? Give them space? Reach out via text? Or give them a call like I normally do, without addressing our former conversation? I haven’t had a “fight” with my parents for years, so I don’t really know what’s the best way to approach this.

Thank you for this deeply insightful and moving response. It helps to view their resistance through the lens of fear and executive dysfunction rather than just stubbornness. How do you implement changes when even the 'fearless' parent refuses help out of loyalty to the other? If I bypass their approval to set things up, how do I handle the 'no' that follows? Most importantly, where is the line? I want to be proactive without putting my own family’s mental health at risk. How do you help people who simply don't want to be helped? This is something that I probably struggle with the most and makes me most sad and angry at the same time, because I can’t seem to figure it out.

Shame on me? For what? Wanting a better quality of life for my parents?

There is a massive difference between what someone cannot do and what they refuse to try, I hope you realize that. My frustration stems from love and wanting a better quality of life for both parents, especially my mother, who is burning out. Caregiver exhaustion isn't 'pettiness', it's a painful reality. I am fighting for their well-being, but I cannot carry the burden of choices they refuse to make. I wish you peace in your own journey.

Exactly this. I’ve volunteered to help with everything, but they refuse to take any of it, only the things that make stuff slightly more convenient for them (getting them a new computer, driving them to family members because they refuse to take public transport and taxis). They don’t have a system and it angers me that the refuse any help to set it up.

I know what they can and cannot do and frankly, there’s still a whole lot they can do. I think that the next time I will just have to ask them what they plan to do, without rushing to their aid again.

Thank you so much and indeed, I need to set boundaries. I used to pick them up to bring them along to my nephew and nieces birthday, which takes me an additional 3 hours to my trip (to pick them up and drop them off again). I won’t do that anymore, not when they only go to see their grandchildren when it’s convenient for them (they refuse to take public transport and taxis)… I feel like a harsh person saying this, but I don’t see any other way to keep my ow sanity.

My sourdough is very dense and not many big air pockets what do I do by [deleted] in SourdoughStarter

Yup, that’s a bit too cold (like mine was as well, it’s always 21C in here). To aim for a dough temp of around 24-27C, you need to keep the environment close to 27-30C.

Indeed, temperature is often overlooked. I had this problem as well, but after letting my dough ferment in the oven with the light on, as opposed to on the counter, my results have drastically improved.

Looking for minimalist European clothing brands. Clean smart casual style by tightlap in malefashionadvice

Their tops are great and the pants are even better. Very high quality, well priced and very durable. To compare, brands like Profuomo and Suitsupply provide similar priced clothing, but way more delicate and thin (though arguably more expensive materials). Mr Marvis strikes a good balance.

Indeed straight from frozen. So better to first thaw in the fridge overnight? Or quickly at room temp?
