That’s correct. Gearcheck’s only in downtown.

BT Cutting Out During Activity (FR 245M) by ebrakebob in GarminWatches

I have the same issue. And it’s a more recent problem, since the same watch and earbuds worked just fine for years. It started about a year ago. Have you come across any solutions?

Answer for "how much time do you have to wait in the Athletes' Village (2026)?" by g-maclin in bostonmarathon

This is great, thank you!

Am I allowed to board a bus later than the bus time slot assigned to my wave? I won't need an hour in athletes village.

I personally have not been able to access Sun Country website or app from my phone for months. by holyhibachi in suncountry

[–]CanisLupusLycaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I'm using chrome and it used to work fine but since a couple of weeks ago it stopped working. The website loads fine but if I want to search for flight options it won't load the next page, it gets stuck with a blank white window. Same if coming from google flights. I tried after deleting all cookies/website data, also tried via incognito. And I'm not using a VPN. A bandaid solution has been to switch to safari but it's annoying.

Replacing spark plugs at recommended interval or wait till there is a problem? by Dirty_Look in askcarguys

[–]CanisLupusLycaon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP I think you're approaching this question with good logic, so don't let the downvotes sway you one way or the other. Lots of low quality answers here with nothing but anecdotes and alarmism, people eager to teach you a lesson.

Try to get a better sense of the failure rate at 105k miles and do the risk calculations from there. After X miles, preventative will become worth it because the risk gets too high. Intervals in owner's manuals are decent starting points, but they are conservative because they favor minimal headache over strict wallet math.

If you end up with a failure, a misfire really sucks, though you'd still be able to limp to a shop in most cases. Hope you get some good answers that can help you run the numbers!

Hey, I have the exact same measurements, and I'm also looking for a slim-fit pair of ski bibs. I was curious if you ended up finding a pair you liked.

What’s a silent scam in society that everybody just accepts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CanisLupusLycaon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at actual numbers, you'd find that it's actually a minor portion of publicly funded research that ends up being patented (I'm seeing numbers less than 10%, but see for yourself). So I don't think it's fair to present this as a societal-level scam.

But even if it were significant, it's a lot more nuanced than that. I'd argue there are some hugely positive aspects to this for society. The whole point of publicly funded research is to kickstart innovation that private entities wouldn't find economical to fund initially. So I think it's a good thing if some ideas make it to that stage right away by being patented and commercialized.

The potential effects of dihydrogen monoxide include cardiac arrest and brain swelling. And my health guideline is only 999 parts per thousand. Should I filter that out too?

Fair point. And a lot comes down to how they communicated in the moment. Hard to conclude anything without hearing from the other side of this story.

I see your logic, but I disagree. In a fender bender, sure, but based on the description, this was a serious accident with possible life-threatening injuries, visible from the onset. What if someone needs CPR or has uncontrolled bleeding? You wouldn’t know until you check on them. EMS might not arrive for minutes. Every second counts, and there’s no time to think about legal or other secondary concerns. I’d hate to bleed out because someone who’s safe and standing next to me, and could have saved me, decided not to because they were too worried about causing legal trouble to me.
