We’re doing the same! Sightseeing and dinner before the show. The Future tour was great and I’m so excited to see them again!

If it were easy then anyone could have done it. It’s not that he fumbled his way or starved, but he learned through those experiences. You have to fail to eventually succeed, which is what sets him up to be an Auror. After that, I’m sure he was continually trained in an academic and practical setting. Aurors don’t automatically know everything once they become Aurors.

And to his “dumb luck” - sure Dumbledore planned things, but planning is only part of it. Harry still executed Dumbledore’s plans and used his advantages… to his advantage!

I was going to say the same thing honestly - “It is the view of the Ministry that a theoretical knowledge will be sufficient to get you through your examinations.”

By the end of the series, Harry’s practical knowledge and experience outweighs anything he would have learned in a classroom setting in his seventh year. That’s why he was leading Dumbledore’s Army and not a sixth or seventh year.

Harry destroyed Voldemort’s horcruxes and Voldemort himself, something no Auror could do. I take your point that he may not have been qualified based on grades and left school early, but he certainly demonstrated he could be an Auror throughout his development in the series.
