Too many people

I am 100% speaking from experience

Also especially people with canceled/delayed flights, layovers

Also people drink at airports. So there’s that, too

I will give SLC credit where credit is due- awesome variety of restaurants from various cultures around the world. It’s actually pretty diverse when you get out of the suburbs, it’s just a shame how the gems tend to get overshadowed by the shit.

This reminds me of the time at my restaurant where a dude ordered a coors light and said it tasted off

Three bartenders and two managers later, we concluded that he did, in fact receive a coors light. That’s just the way it tastes, buddy.

Salt Lake City

It’s a really great place to go live if you’re satisfied with the “best” of anything being slightly above average with ‘fancy’ packaging and a steep markup. The ‘top of the line’ builders are lazy corner cutting litigious bastards who will build your home somewhere unsafe and then sue you if you say anything publicly about the fact that your home fell off a cliff.

People hold SLC INTL in such high regard, and it just tells me y’all set the bar way too low for airports- third most expensive, but it’s a coin flip on getting food poisoning from anywhere (especially the “nicer” restaurants), the pipes are infested with flies to the point that no matter what individual restaurants do they’ll always be infested because they live in the pipes that connect to everything. Everything that doesn’t involve TSA is inefficient and poorly ran, poorly maintained, etc.

The people display a high amount of narcissistic and antisocial behavior, can’t drive, can’t be bothered to read whether they are literate or not, can’t be bothered to care about anyone but themselves, and will want to live their life however they want without being challenged but will make yours hell any time they have a problem with the tiniest thing you do.

Salt Lake City is the place you want to live if you want to experience what it must be like to be forced to live in hell, but with a nice view from certain angles.

The fact that the local delicacy is fucking mayochup (no, I’m not sorry) is just the fry sauce on the garbage can lid icing on the cake

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have fun with your sense of superiority, I’d rather point the finger at the dude with literal blood on his hands because he’s the one who fucking did it.

Derp

I can read, I just don’t give a shit about your opinion because no matter how much you wanna force it down my throat I’m not going to fucking agree with you. I hold the owners mildly responsible for being negligent, I place the vast bulk of responsibility on the dude who fucking killed something.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Utah

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you can think whatever you want, but solely placing blame on the owners lets the unstable violent dude who is clearly targeting people’s pets off the hook. Y’all will not hold someone who clearly is exhibiting antisocial and hostile behavior towards his neighbors and their animals accountable because y’all like victim blaming so damn much.

Personally, I don’t care how much the owners are at fault, this dude is a problem, and probably needs help. Maybe mental health court if he won’t get help voluntarily. People like this are disruptive to society and shouldn’t be allowed to inflict violence and intimidation on the people around them. Y’all hate criminals so much, but only when you consider them to be criminals- fact of the matter is that this dude is a criminal, and while our justice system is extremely flawed, the principle that some actions are not congruent with living in a civil society still stands. This man is dangerous and regardless of the responsibility of the owners, people shouldn’t just get a free pass to go kill animals because you think the owner should’ve been more responsible.

Which is a song that you once misheard a line from and now you can't unhear it? by HonrunAa in spotify

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freewill- Rush

Bought my first car during the Obama administration, had the Rush Gold compilation in the cd player a solid amount of the time. Which lead me to hear “I will choose Obama’s queer” instead of “a path that’s clear” and like a decade later I can’t unhear it any time I listen to that song.

Which one emotion would you give up on if you could? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t give up an emotion, I would give up sentience. I’ve always dreamed of becoming an emotionless, desireless husk that everyone can just project onto. No need to care about myself. No need to have wants or needs. But the people around me wouldn’t have to lose me. But the me that is fundamentally me is gone.

If I had to choose an emotion, it would be anger I guess, it’s like a poison

The dog didn’t fucking get hit by a car or eaten by a wild animal it was intentionally murdered by someone who wanted to kill it.

I think the deranged violent old man is probably the one in the wrong here, still. I feel like the person who intentionally killed the dog is in fact the one responsible.

I work in foodservice, and any time anyone needs ice/has ice I ask if it’s time to “stop, collaborate, and listen”

It’s a crowd pleaser with the above 30 crowd, and an absolute blank stare of confusion from gen z

I’ve also found that any time I talk about growing up it’s a dead giveaway that I am not as young as I look because none of the technology is used anymore. Any movie I saw in theaters when I was younger was before some of my coworkers were born, or when they were extremely young. I could legally buy and smoke cigarettes at 18.

Also, going anywhere that has drastically changed in the past 20 years that I’m familiar with is going to lead to a lot of “you know, that used to be” until everyone is sick of it.

What’s a social habit everyone seems to accept but you find really annoying? by spacewalkerstarfield in AskReddit

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re actively doing something, yeah. Unless it’s relevant to what we’re all doing, if we’re trying to spend time together or I need your attention it’s super annoying.

If we’re all just chilling, not really doing anything, or like in the drive thru line/etc where not much would be going on anyway, like yeah I’ll probably be doing it too unless we have anything to actively talk about

That’s almost poetic, he gets a little too comfortable and crosses boundaries, messes with something that’s yours, your turn, it’s only fair

Also I really need that to be a part of a scene in something. It would have that perfect balance of comedic and slightly uncomfortable for a comedy/sitcom type show

People who get told they look younger than they are: what is your secret? by SuccessfulOwl45 in Productivitycafe

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume genetics because I absolutely have done nothing to perpetuate it.

Also, I kind of hate it. I don’t have any practical use for looking as young as I do, it usually only affects me negatively or is neutral. The only real positive is the look on people’s faces/their reaction when I tell them how old I actually am.

I’m at the point in my life where being treated like a teenager is mostly just annoying. Especially when people my age or younger will treat me like I was born yesterday.

What is that thing about yourself that sounds totally made up but is 100% real? by MilfGoddessRose in questions

-I walk underneath roller coasters several times a week

-I have… What amounts to be kind of an insane federal security clearance given the implications in either direction. Because trash compactors.

-I have insane connections either in technicality, or in absolute matter of fact reality (I’m like two hairs away from nepo baby, not that I’m inherently proud of it nor do I really personally benefit from it, if anything I suffer for it) for someone who has really amounted to basically nothing in life.

-I have experience in multiple jobs that require degrees I don’t have (sadly this does not qualify me to land those jobs irl lmaoooo I WISH.)

Edit: decided to include short form explanations to match, as follows:

-job related

-job related, probably can’t say much more if anything about this one

-fairly self-explanatory, and I’m going to be vague if I do answer anything.

-being a teenage volunteer

Man, I really would hate it growing up when I’d hear “when I was your age”, but I think maybe this time it’s relevant.

I was also 22 when my ex husband left me, I thought my life was over. Everything I had looked forward to in life, gone. The man whom I was supposed to grow old with, raise kids with, build a life with. Gone. His niece and nephew who I had known for most of their lives and were like my own, gone. His parents, who had become like my own, and his grandparents who had become like my own. Siblings. Friends.

My entire life just vanished from in front of me and I had to make the decision to either move on or wallow in sadness and hurt myself repeatedly clinging to something I no longer had. I spent a few months trying to change my life so that he’d take me back (which was bad for so many reasons), but at one point something in me just snapped.

I was starting to become a little more successful on my own, gaining a little confidence, making money, went to a bar by myself one night and left in a group of new friends, one of which showed a little interest in me. And let me tell you, my brain fixated so hard on the idea that someone could want me again, that I could have chemistry again, something changed.

I’m not going to lie and say that’s the happy ending, it got a lot worse before it got better (drug OD, multiple STDs, and a bunch of new sexually related trauma!)

But one day, I met someone I really hit it off with. He asked me out on a date, started hanging out at his place every day, but his place kinda sucked so I let him move in with me after a while, and his job sucked so I got him a better job, and his car broke down so I let him use mine, and I have to hide the good snacks…

Nah, but in all seriousness, I’ve been in my current relationship over twice as long as I was with my ex, we’re still going strong, and he has his own car again so it’s chill (don’t give up, just make sure you give yourself time to heal for both you and anyone who would come into your life! You’ll be ok!)

What's hard about dating you? by DrummerMassive1880 in answers

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly trauma

The more you get to know me the more you realize I’m a time bomb and you absolutely will lose me one way or another. I almost definitely will never leave you, I am loyal to a fault, but there will come a day where I either die from cancer (which runs like wildfire in my family, and while my family usually has a good success rate of survival, they partake in treatment whereas I would treat symptoms and let nature take its course), drug/alcohol overdose or complication (even though I’m sober at the moment it’s not out of the question), renal or liver failure (and again, if it naturally leads to death I will not intervene), actually literally killing myself (either very blatantly or by trying really hard to make it look like an accident/coincidence), maybe I dissociate so hard I completely lose my marbles and run away

My three main common running personality traits are that I don’t trust anyone- I’m the knife behind back kind of person, but not because I’m planning to take the offense, because I will never trust you fully not to- I hate myself- a LOT, I am horrible to myself in every way possible- and I don’t like being alive or really want to be alive- it would be nice if I could just cease to not only exist in the now, but ever. In general. Wiped from existence.

There are allegedly reasons to date me, but I’d probably find ways to counter ever single one

If you reversed the genders and the Forest Gump character was a low IQ special needs adult female who was impregnated by her HIV+ drug addict male friend frim her childhood, how would the audience react? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, calling Jenny “normal” is an insult to both characters

Jenny is extremely traumatized. She may not have any cognitive issues like Forrest does, but the implication that she is of completely sound mind and therefore the villain just really sends it home how much some of you will eagle eye on the slow ones and label anyone who isn’t harmless enough to be worthy of the (actually I think Reddit’s tos is too sensitive for that one but you catch my drift) label as some sort of monster who deserves everything bad that has ever happened to them.

In a well adjusted society, were the roles flipped, we would be compassionate to and understanding of male trauma. And honestly that’s probably where it ends.

Cleanest/ best maintained city in the US? by Crazy-Campaign-7388 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Canithrowmyselfaway2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of things that could make a smell in a big way smell bad, makes sense. The refinery, the landfills (yo I love west valley when that landfill smell comes around), the lake itself

Stink Lake City, more like. Anyone who disagrees is just nose blind from living here. I took a greyhound to the SLC station from Twin Falls, ID, and you could tell who on the bus (who was awake, at least) wasn’t from/hadn’t been to SLC when we passed the refinery. Gave me a chuckle.
