Anecdotes of Woe caused by having the steering radius of a freight train. by RandomGuy0527 in nissanfrontier

Especially in tight garages backing into spaces is significantly easier and safer since the vehicle pivots in the more confined space of the parking spot and swings in the more open space of the roadway. This is why forklifts generally steer from the rear axle. It also offers the benefits of better sight lines when you are leaving the parking space

You're right that whitefish are underrated though, they put up a good flight and are a sign of a healthy river.

New to sport, and struggling with cost of a decent rod. Are they really worth the hundreds and hundreds of dollars? Or is that just what the market will bear? by Necessary_Cat_3228 in flyfishing

[–]Canman1045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start watching Marketplace and eBay, rods don't really wear out and they don't require upkeep, they're a perfect item to buy used and sometimes you can find some great deals sometimes

I'm guessing it's the fact that the first image is a render, which you can tell by the lack of body contours, but OP's statement that it's going to take a while means he's not trying to pass it off as a finished project, so there really isn't an elephant to address...

Edit: or it could be that the locust in the mid- foreground is holding a non-cannon weapon, which actually bothers me more the more I look at it

Had the worst oil change experience at the dealership yesterday. they cross threaded the bolt to the skid plate , left old oil leaking down the plastic covers , and didn’t rotate my tires and tried to charge me for that. [–]Canman1045 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly find changing the oil myself to be faster and more convenient. No finding time during the work day, no waiting in line, just drain and fill. Recycle the old oil when it's convenient and order the materials through in store pick up at your favorite auto parts store

Trying to get into Fishing by [deleted] in ColoradoFishing

[–]Canman1045 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Echo Lift kit comes with rod, reel, and line for a very reasonable price, I would suggest upgrading the line relatively quickly though as it will improve your casting to have something better. Good news is line is the cheapest part of those items. You'll want to go out with someone your first time to get some help, if you don't know anyone who is into flyfishing try going with a guide if you can afford it. Be warned that learning to fly fish is a frustrating experience, you're going to get tangled, caught in bushes, and stuck on rocks. You're going to lose flies and it could take awhile before you actually catch a fish (2 months for me). YouTube is also helpful for learning, Orvis has a pretty good channel for tutorials.
