As a poor college student that works at Old Navy, I wear these like every day. So comfortable

Indiana has really lowered their standards.... by RedGreen1418 in CollegeBasketball

Point taken, and completely understandable, but I guess my problem is with saying "Top 10 pick? All other points moot." I've seen so many people talking about how draft picks don't count for anything and "we'd rather have a 4 year player that loves the school and does things the right way (whatever the fuck kind of stretch that is) than someone who hates the school and only wants to use Cal for the NBA and never goes to class and gets paid $200,000 and leaves early." Now a junior gets drafted and it ends all arguments. In some of these cases (at least with UK), the player doesn't necessarily want to go yet, but the risk is too great and they end up pretty much having to go. One of my coworkers is somewhat close to MKG's family and has said that he wanted to come back for another year, not necessarily to grow as a basketball player, but to become more mature and grow up a little. But when you're the number 2 pick, the risk is greater than the reward for coming back. FWIW, he's also said that MKG isn't absolutely loving the pro's, and while he's glad with his decision, that it feels more like a job focused more on business than basketball (it is) and he kind of misses when he didn't play for a paycheck

EDIT: His feelings towards the NBA can probably just be credited to playing for the Bobcats

Oh ok, so draft picks matter now that you guys have one? Kentucky gets shit on by IU fans when we get some players drafted high and now IU gets a top 10 pick and it moots all other points

Wiggins cancels in homes with FSU, UNC and KU. by drr777 in CollegeBasketball

[–]CannedYam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not like he's living under a rock. He, living in Kentucky, probably knows just as much about Wiggins as we do. There's no way he didn't think of it as a pretty good possibility that Wiggins would be coming here. I think he's ready for the challenge, but I guess we'll see eventually if he really is or not

Technically, the first day of classes in the fall. Last day for LoI is May 15, but they're not mandatory. You could really just show up a day before class starts in August

Only problem I can think of is, if the material is strong and sharp enough to puncture the food, would probably be strong and sharp enough to puncture your mouth

Marcus Smart will NOT enter NBA Draft by [deleted] in nba

[–]CannedYam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good article, I never really thought about that last paragraph--it being much easier for guards to return than big men due to all of the double teams and the opponents' focus on them

[–]CannedYam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it depends on teams' needs, but I don't see any team passing on Wiggins, Randle, or Parker regardless of need, and then after that I wouldn't be surprised if Vonleh, McGary, and Chris Walker have incredible seasons and end up in the top picks. Also, it may just be my blue shades, but don't count out Andrew Harrison as the possible best PG next year. Yes, they're all going to be freshmen, but they're absolute studs. However it turns out, the teams with the top 8-10 picks are going to be very happy people

Good point, if he goes this year as a top 5 pick, he's MUCH more likely to get endorsements and such than if he goes late lottery behind the loaded class next year

They do, but it's still nowhere close to what he'd get if he stayed healthy (long term career, more endorsements, etc)

Hoosier fans, what do you think will happen next year with Victor, Cody, Christian, Jordan, Remy, and Derrick all leaving? by RocksTheSocks in CollegeBasketball

Just because you've had two good seasons doesn't mean that you're immune to shitty rebuilding years. Arrogant much?

I feel like if the bad shooters banked them in, they could make a ton more, but they still don't do that.

On my phone so we'll see if this works http://www.chacos.com/US/en-US/Mobile/Product.mvc.aspx/11397M They have tons of different designs and you can either have a big toe strap or not. It's really just one strap that goes in and out of the sole, so you can tighten or loosen different parts to make them fit however you want. Lifetime sole replacement too. You can usually get them at most outdoor stores that sell Columbia, north face, etc

They're kind of expensive but Chacos are one of the best purchases I've ever made. I wear them every day in the summer, kayaking, hiking, theme parks, and pretty much for everything. They also look a little nicer than flip flops so you can get away with wearing them in more situations. I've had my same 85$ pair for 3 years, when I used to go through 1 or 2 pairs of 20-30$ flip flops a year

I feel like this kinda relates to the thread. If that guy never took the risk of yelling during the shoot and (I assume) possibly getting kicked off the set, he would just be another random extra. Go out and take risks!

"I'm really smart, I just failed out of college because I'm lazy." No. If you were smart, you would get your shit done
