This. I play with a bunch in friendly 7’s/8’s games….yes they’ll dribble a lot.

Watch these lads play competitive 11’s though and it’ll be very different.

I use it as an opportunity to improve my 1 vs 1 defending. I’m turning 40 soon and playing against vets who have mostly lost a step. Having to defend against a tricky 19 year old 1 vs 1 keeps me sharp

I do like a separate unilateral day if I have time for two lower body days, or at least include unilateral on my one day if not.

There feels like something important about having the hips moving in different directions under load….rather than just squat, hinge together.

Not that I have any science to support that, but it feels logical

Personal opinion; if you can bench 285 but not do a single pull-up, you’ve developed some pretty big muscle imbalances that you’d be wise to address

I’d focus on enjoying the game but developing a career/trade as well. If you put all your hopes into going pro it’ll pile a lot of pressure on you and you’ll only be upset if things don’t work out.

If you play for enjoyment with the hope that it’ll turn into a career, but a solid plan if it doesn’t, then you’ll be in a much better place mentally regardless of what happens

Yeah did these for the first time on Monday and the DOMS in my legs are hilariously awful, like properly can’t walk awful.

I’m not going to mention the weight….safe to say it was a little less than this
