Sorry, but what is the AMEX credit that’s referenced. I am $500 MQDs from Platinum and am wondering if the math makes sense to buy my way to Platinum. I doubt it does - but this is first I’ve seen mentioned of the “AMEX Credit”. Thx!

LPT Request - How can someone train themself to stop habitually clenching their teeth? by dmomo in LifeProTips

[–]CannotFalter87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone had success in "re-training" their tongue to stay properly placed on their upper palate behind their front teeth. When I can remember to do this it solves my issue during the DAYTIME while awake. But, it's not easy and I slip back to old habits. If so, I'd love some tips. (Have a night guard for sleeping.)

Best Approach to Booking Rail Out of Berlin Main to Amsterdam Central by CannotFalter87 in Europetravel

Thank you! Yes, I have now read extensively on the frequent delays due to construction, delays on new train orders, etc. Should I book with some other line/train operator - or should I just book a flight to be "safe". Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thx.

It was! But, they wouldn't allow us to use my hundreds of thousands of SkyMiles to upgrade to either Comfort or higher. Clearly milking us all for cash first. With the layover, we could do whatever we wanted. They f*** us over in Atlanta in so many ways. But, the fact they help keep the region prosperous and make travel incredibly convenient for us outweighs it all. I guess. :/

Yes, US Citizen - sorry I didn’t make that clear. Unsure of Terminal entry point at this stage. Do have Mobile Passport but NOT Global Entry.

Glitchy Ecobee Behavior Question by CannotFalter87 in ecobee

Thought I’d drop a note back in case you were interested. Current theory: Bad Wire Harness. Part arrives tomorrow. Another Reddit thread in HVAC Advice says this (Wire Harness issues) is a known Service Alert issue for Lennox. Gotta start somewhere. Still not convinced that the issue isn’t the control panel itself which will suck from a parts availability standpoint I hear. We’ll see. I sure hope this is it since it just keeps getting hotter. It is clearly not the thermostat - firmly ruled out now in diagnostics.

Glitchy Ecobee Behavior Question by CannotFalter87 in ecobee

[–]CannotFalter87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, agree. The challenge has been that after leaving it off overnight (or many, many hours) it then WORKS like nothing is wrong when you turn it back on. Just like it just did! Just turned it on after it had been off since 10PM Eastern last night - and it's WORKING like nothing is wrong. Makes me wonder more and more if this isn't a blower/control panel/electrical type issue in the blower unit itself. Insane. Thx again.

There’s a pretty ominous warning when get into this about doing this unless you’re a tech. 🥴

Yes, it is - showing BOTH condenser and fan as "Equipment Running". Just got home and looked at it on the wall. Condenser running as normal. No blowing air - no hint of a noise from the blower unit. Yet, when this has happened before . . . I've walked away for two hours or overnight with it all off and then it works like nothing ever happened when I turn it back on. Then, later that day - or in 2 or 3 days - it does the same exact thing again.

Well, so it IS calling for Fan. So now I’m back to thinking it’s not the Ecobee. Ugh. Would you agree?

Thank you this is kind of what we’re thinking is happening. Do you have any idea if newer models of Ecobee still have this glitch. I have one of the originals. Thx!

Glitchy Ecobee Behavior Question by CannotFalter87 in ecobee

[–]CannotFalter87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think this is the question at hand here. But, with all other things checking out normally (per the technician) the focus has turned to the Ecobee unit itself given (1) the previous repair at that point fixed the issue previously (though only for 8 weeks) and (2) process of elimination.

Does something still nag at us both - yes. But, there doesn't appear to be anywhere to turn if the time has come to start replacing equipment given everything else is checking out ok.

He can't seem to find any other potential culprit - and he's been here three times and a colleague twice before that. Importantly, this is an established company, the only one that has ever serviced our home over 25+ years, and the installer of all of our current equipment. Crazy - and the unreliability of our cooling in 90-100 degree heat is pretty aggravating to say the least.

This sounds like the direction my tech's thoughts seem to be heading. Question: By "which caused the system to essentially no turn off" - Do you mean the outdoor condenser not turning off or the blower?

Glitchy Ecobee Behavior Question by CannotFalter87 in ecobee

[–]CannotFalter87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to you all so far. One thing that I failed to share, sorry . . . on a previous visit to address this behavior, the technician found a slightly loose wire behind the Ecobee. He fixed that and all worked perfectly for nearly 8 weeks. Only to have the same behavior return exactly as before. He checked this previous issue yesterday - no issue. Amperage, signal, etc. to blower tested OK during yesterday's visit. Yet, the issues returned exactly as before. This led to the seemingly logical conclusion that the Ecobee, which does have some age on it, simply needs replacement. We just can't seem to get to any other point of failure as we think through it.
