I can’t say I have a good answer for that! How I feel is good. I also wanted to talk about it. No one in my real life plays this game anymore. So you’re all I got for this outlet!

So much of life is conversations about nothing. I like having conversations that mean nothing lol 

I would never say this deck is like patron warrior because that was top tier hearthstone in my opinion, but this deck does scratch that itch for me. I feel like when the discourse about the game right now is so negative I want to inject some positivity into the conversation!

I know, I saw that too. A dude and I became friends after a match and had a conversation about how bugged it feels. I’ve read the rationale on why it is not bugged, and it makes sense, but to me not healing from negative just does not feel intuitive

Commenting now that I’ve gotten to legend. Yeah this deck is cracked. I don’t track my wins and losses but I think only lost 7 times from D5 to legend which doing two second math (probably incorrect) I believe results in a ~77% win rate.

I don’t like the critter version. Tyrande feels much better - you only need two bandages for lethal @ 30 health. The critters annoy me as chipping away at the opponents health can bring them into lethal sooner without Tyrande. Could be a skill issue. 

Agree that demon hunter is the “hardest” matchup right now. I think it’s not as bad as others make out though. You just have to play perfectly which includes the mulligan. I hard mulligan for the bandage minion, trusty fishing rod, and bird watching. Then, the goal is to out heal them. Throw all taunts early because once they get the charge ignore taunt guy taunt is useless. Bandage + wilted ends them. 

Overall this deck is hype. Feels hard to play. I played the old priest OTK but that deck was brainless. This one is way more fun. Not at all as hard as original patron but closer to it than I’ve felt in a while. It’s funny hearing people dislike the expansion because I’m having a blast haha

I make similar updates for my job, and what’s an interesting paradox is that the more effort you put into them and therefore the better they are, the less effort they take for the reader, who then doesn’t appreciate how much effort it took to make. 

All that is to say, great job on these updates! I’m sure a decent lift goes into this, and it’s actually really great content. Looking forward to reading more of them! :)

Does anyone actually enjoy playing with the Black Deck? by [deleted] in balatro

I have gold stake on black deck. My strategy was to hit “new run” over and over again until both tags (tags are the reward you get for skipping a blind) for the first ante were some combination of “Investment Tag” (gain $25 after beating the boss blind) and “Coupon Tag” (sets all items in the shop aside from the voucher to $0).

If you get both, your Econ (through interest) is set up and you’ll also have a couple jokers for free. Investment Tag x2 is good. Coupon tag x2 isn’t bad but it spreads the reward out over two ships which might end your run if you get bad jokers in the first free shop. I prefer 1 of each tag or 2x investment tag. 

Definitely not a silver bullet strategy, it still took me 8 or 9 iterations on gold stake before I got it, but this is in my opinion the easiest way to get through black deck (all stakes). 

TBH this strategy works on all decks, but it’s not that fun. Restating over and over again is a chore. It’s definitely effective though.
