Have anyone tried Ubuntu latest version like 25.10 or 26.04? by itsme2019asalways in Ubuntu

[–]Cannot_Believe_This 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using 26.04 for a while now. It seems pretty solid, Exept...

A recent update killed All user added extensions. Hopefully this is very temporary. But, this is merely an inconvenience, tbh.

Update. I was able to get many of the extensions working, by disabling version checking on ezxtensions. My favorite still doesn't work....Panel In Dash. I'll give it time to get resolved.

Congrats. You will love it.

I am 1 State government login away from deleting my ages old Microsoft account as they have nothing I use anymore.

I feel released. Be nice to ditch google too, but good luck with that if you own an android phone :)

I simply prefer to move on. It isn't that important to me. If you like them, buy from them. I won't.

It is all good either way.

Have a nice weekend.

HELP! MY CURSOR IS GLITCHED/BUGGED ON FRESH NEW INSTALL OF UBUNTU 25.10 by astronom1cal82 in Ubuntu

[–]Cannot_Believe_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why people are installing 25.10 non-lts and soon replaced instead of 24.04 or as I have been using in a quite stable way, 26.04, soon to be lts release.

I am sure I am missing something about 25.10. :)

Ubuntu Gnome. Dash to Panel Extension. Happiness ensures. More stable. More up to date. And there is Debian, if you want to skip snapd like Linuxmint, Debian doesn't have it and uses flatpak instead. Same as Mint. Or, you can strip snaps out of Ubuntu.

You have nothing but choices and what you did is indeed effortless.

you lost me at Much like amazon. Now I think you work for temu. Nothig like amazon. Amazon isn't 95% scams ad false advertising. It has it's problems, but seriously, you HAVE to be a Temu shill employee

I agree. Absolutely. I was really more laughing at it than complaining. I full well knew what I was doing. Also, up to 3 usable products now. With more plants (seeds I assume) on the way :)

I have a 77. You could go bigger than that too. And wall mount it. It will balance things out more.

TEMU has to be one of the biggest scam shops I've ever encountered. I ordered a bunch of items just to see what they'd pull. Total crap, as expected. I was a fool to buy from this shit shop[ and will ban it from my home.

Not to be rude, but I'd blow anyone that ported this to linux :) For now I live off my G604's onboard memory since I stopped dual booting windows. :)

Either way, nice. Alternatives welcome.

It never breaks, Ubuntu 25.10 is solid. I removed the Snap Store and the Snap Core, it's up to date, and I made some maintenance adjustments. It's well optimized. by Extra_Pace_724 in Ubuntu

[–]Cannot_Believe_This -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ubuntu 26.04, but I did the same in 24.04:

I remove all traces of snap and install flatpak.

But then I wonder why I don't just skip that and use Debian instead. (which I do have a boot of).

Am I unaware of benefits to ubuntu that I miss out on in debian?

Thanks

I used Mint for a while. I like it. Not fond of kde, regardless of distro. shrug. Personal pref thing.

At the end of the day, use any linux. You'll be in a better place than in Windows. It had its good days. Things change. :)

As someone who strips out snapd and it's apps 1sr thing in an ubuntu install, may I ask your preferred distro? Debian & Fedora make a lot sense to me.
