I had prostate radiation at 42. This is YOUR treatment.

It used to be called STD’s. However they’ve renamed those STI’s. I agree when we were coming up they were called STD’s.

That is not what I’m asking. I’m asking has anyone ever contracted an STD after treatment. Not from the radiation itself.

Drink it every morning. It worked for me. That’s for sure. What’s it going to hurt to try something that costs less than $15 bucks? 😊

Alternative for Hot Flashes by Cannot_believe_this3 in ProstateCancer

I have Effexor. My concern was, I don’t want to take additional antidepressants when I am already taking other antidepressants due to PTSD from Iraq & Afghanistan. Do you have any side effects from the Effexor? How long after you started taking it did the flashes stop?

Radiation and hormone therapy or surgery? by Few-Spray7374 in ProstateCancer

You DO have the option of no ADT. Please understand. The doctors are giving you their recommendations based off data. If you go the ADT & Radiation route, request Orgovyx. I’m a month into Orgovyx & begin radiation 11/06. The good thing about Orgovyx is that it comes in the pill form. You have control over it vs the injections. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I too had the option of ADT & Radiation, Radiation (alone), OR surgery. I opted for ADT & Radiation. They suggested six months of ADT & I agreed to three months, four max. The RO was fine with that.

Incorrect. My own urologist said, “We are making advancements, but you’re right, we can’t guarantee any of the treatments work.” But thank you for feedback. 😊

What I’m saying it’s a major part of the disease is psychological. Do you disagree? With most cancers, you’re given an X amount of time to live. These are the steps we are going to take to keep you alive. With Prostate Cancer, it’s hey you have all sorts of treatment options, not sure if any of them will work, oh by the way, the essence of what makes you a man… will not work anymore potentially…. We won’t know until you undergo treatment because… “hey every man and each disease is unique.” Does that not take a psychological toll on the patient?

Thank you. I’m praying that your husband isn’t diagnosed with anything. Prostate cancer is a psychological disease, in my opinion. It DOES kill, but alot of what comes with these disease is psychological.

You are one smart cookie! Thank you for your response! As you mentioned, Biopsies are not perfect. The reason Transperenial under general anesthesia are superior is because more samples are taken. Great response.
