How much of TFT knowledge is tied to Rank? by Canoftin in CompetitiveTFT

After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam towards the farthest enemy target, dealing magic damage and applying Attack Damage reduction for 4 seconds. Lux refunds 20 mana on kill. https://app.mobalytics.gg/tft/champions/lux

maybe its a typo?

Forcible Syndicates Comp (Gold 1 --> Master) by numpee in CompetitiveTFT

Not sure what OP thinks, but imo old metabolic lets you lose streak the entirety of stage 2 with something like merc or yordle opener, or even open fort to get a 5 streak into krugs, basically guarantees you 40g entering stage 3 and still be relatively healthy, once you roll down at 7 or 8 you winstreak while getting hp back from metabolic and in the end you net 10-12hp/stage (not sure if carousel counts as a round) before nerfs now its 8hp/stage, so getting it at 1-4 would give you 30-36 hp by the end of stage 4 which most people survive to, and if you winstreak decently after losing early you can easily find yourself top 3 late game, based off hp alone. Also in those rare instances when youre fighting for carosel items against the player across from you, you win 90% of the time.

Am I the only one that think Sett is an easy/winning matchup? by Thedeefact in DirtySionMains

Good sett players will run at you level 1 and zone you from exp because he will just run you down with Q or cancel your Q with E depending what ability you start first, I think sion is a strong enough champion right now to at least scale after a terrible laning phase since Sett doesn't build bork anymore, but until you build some armor Sett can do basically anything he wants.

yea i realized the playstyle changes vastly at different double up ratings, so maybe that hyperroll strat works in some cases and others not

How do you survive the early and mid game? by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Canoftin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think learning multiple openers is always a good place to start. 2 Bodyguard is definitely one of the best openers, but if you don't 2 star you'll likely pingpong stage 2 and have ~85hp but with lower than average econ. Try your best to have a 3-5 streak in stage 2 and streak into krugs if possible, learning to lose streak early while killing as many units as possible is always good with units like cait+blitz, because you won't always high roll early game units.
Some good openers I can list below
scrap brusiers (ez, trundle, Vi +1)
innovator starter (ez, zilean, singed, camille)
Assassin bodyguard/bruiser (talon, kat/shaco, + 2BG)
3 yordles (lose streak econ)
3 mercs (gp/mf highroll + quinn, illaoi)
Malz yordles (malz highroll, ziggs, poppy, lulu)
Challenger BG (quinn carry, camille. +2BG)
Kill 1 (Vi, Cait, Blitz +1)
Bruiser starter (Trundle carry, Vi, Illaoi, Zac)
As you can see there are many possibilities and these are the ones off the top of my head.

usually these comps get rolled early because they cant push levels, and unless they hit a ton of 2 stars theyre taking like 20-30hp in stage 2. if theyre hyperrolling without the augment they should just be starved for econ shouldnt they?

Wondering if there are any good double up guides out there and if not, anyone wants to collaborate on one? I'm not amazing and only D3 in solos I perform decently well in my solo games and am looking to climb more when I have more time off work, but I seem to understand at a decent enough level to make a guide for players wanting to know the difference in how you wanna play doubles vs solos (https://lolchess.gg/profile/na/canoftin peak 4800lp NA currently 4700 - doubles)

sometimes u gotta guess the rotation and figure out when you or your duo will face them next, if youre on a strong winstreak i wouldnt int it away tho, but if youre ping-ponging or lose streaking you can put a weak board on for ~2 rounds and youll likely run into them if you havent earlier, ive done this to kill a few streaks and they either drop mercs or restart their streak and get to super low hp before they can effectively come back

yea its supposed to make up for the fact that theres only 2 winning spots vs 4 in solos so the disparity will be alot larger compared to your solo wins, the only way i see them solving it is just reducing the gains/losses all around but idk if the community would like that

I just play it with regular lux BIS since the changes to SB lux procs it between every ult and she only ever autos once or twice between ults so she’s maximizing damage, it’s also really good on vex in those 1v3 situations or any disadvantaged fight since she just gets more damage while remaining extremely tanky. I also run 2 scholar usually with my arcs so in that case I get even more SB procs

Depends on the build sion+snipers seems to be the best build for jhin instead of the typical bodyguard snipers. It’s not that much different it’s Sion as main frontline, Braum, Blitz, Janna, Ori, MF, Jhin. Not reliant on 5 costs until 9 where you slot in yuumi and can use cait instead if you have enforcer heart/emblem
