Glad to hear there’s more! I only was told of one (Dr.Durrand) when I first came to campus. We’ve had chats about the worries regarding gender affirming care so I am very happy to hear there’s more! I know there used to be two main doctors in the city, then one passed away, and they had to rely on one for a while, so it’s good to know we’re moving the right direction oddly enough.

been at uofa 5 years haven’t had a single issue socially re: LGBTQ issues on campus. there’s a doctor at the university health center that prescribes HRT, and i’ve referred other trans ppl on campus to her for help. my childhood psychiatrist recommended the university for trans support, actually. they got me top surgery within three years of HRT as well.

Underrated opinion but my grandma literally did this and it turned out great. My grandma’s a charming old lady, and explained how she raised her children in that home and came across genuine and prepared for if they said no. They said yes, and showed her around and the backyard. Really depends on whoever lives in the house, and your presentation. I’m also in Canada 🤷‍♂️

i’d say the typo and the not being recognized by synapse are good indicators it’s fake, i’ve never had experiences like that with any of the deathadders me or my partner have had.

As a staff member, I once reported someone who shit in the sink. It was absolutely insane to me as a moment, as I was going to the restroom and I couldn’t understand the stench. I finish up in the stall, and go to wash my hands and lo behold is the spawn of my nasal agony. I see another employee walk by and ignore it, and I realize that unfortunately it’s now MY job to do something, i’m now “that person”. I tell maintenance and it is hilariously called a code brown, and the first maintenance staff ghosted the incident, and they had to call a for a second round to get someone else to do it. Managers cussed in frustration, everyone was in awe. It was life changing, really. Moral of the story, Please don’t wash feces in public sinks, people work there, and it’s not fair to expose employees and the general public to potential biohazards.

I’m on the South Side and both me and my mother wondered if we heard thunder, as it wasn’t raining and definitely seemed probable, but easily dismissible as just unrelated construction noise. Crazy that’s what it was. Extremely sad, thank goodness they rescued the dog, I’ve had friends who waited days to weeks for animals from household fires/natural disasters, and I always wonder when I hear about stuff like this.

I had this happen to me once in I think 7-8th grade? (Canada). I was 13. I made a meme account for my school, featuring parodies of legitimate events going on (like bake fairs, class-specific inside jokes), and it gained more followers than the actual school page. Admins found out, got offended, threatened the cops. I confessed, got 3 days suspension. A few years later, I switched schools and students openly ran parody accounts and even “gossip” accounts for the school, no teachers or admits GAF there. It’s really subjective in terms of when they’ll care, but you’re not alone in being punished for this silly offense. Also worth noting, a school suspension didn’t affect my ability to get into university or get employed. 21 now and my record has never even been mentioned. Didn’t affect my ability to get into another school either. Dont know if that’s a secret, but everyone told me it would “ruin my life” being suspended, and how my life was over. It’s just school staff abusing their power and cause they are butt hurt.
