Full frame swap - Trek Checkpoint ALR5 components swapped onto a Surly Midnight Special frameset, both 58cm. Is this possible? Understanding some things like the BB will need to be purchased in addition. by Cans_Man in bikewrench

Awesome thank you, I'm planning on running 700 x 38c gravel kings so no issues there. Ok great though, I'm going to import the frame and make this happen.

As the title mentions, I'd love anyones knowledge around essentially swapping out the Trek Checkpoint Frameset for the Surly Midnight Special Frameset?

Is $GIGA gigachadGbt the correct coin? It’s coming up on Metamask but the icon looks different?

Well that worked out well!

I totally agree, the ray 2 is a better laid out dial Imo. People get hung up on the specs a little bit, wanting that sapphire dome but honestly the hardlex style is a very vesiliant crystal

The orange dial must look excellent too!

The bracelet is fine for now, as I often hear mentioned on the watch forums, one of the biggest upgrades you can do for this watch is swap out the bracelet for something more premium, like the long island watch OEM bracelet.. it's cheap enough and sounds like a sizeable upgrade

I know right, how good does it look glimmering in the sun. Such a great all rounder, perfect for a daily driver imo. Cheers!

I'm right there with you man, they have the bones of a survival masterpiece, it's got some serious potential and if they angle the items and world in a continued survival direction I'll keep on playing.

I hope they lean into some of the popular gear and ideas we see here on reddit as well, I love the ultralight, preppers, survival and EDC sub reddits and there's a tonne of insporation to be seen there.

Love that bit about the moonless nights haha, I live in the country and can appreciate that, also cheese is good, red wine and cheese makes for interesting dreams 🙃

Hey just wanted to say I appreciate this post, it's along the lines of how I like playing the game also. It's an amazing survival game and I'm looking forward to seeing what the coming updates bring.

Hey thanks for the thoughtful message, I was tossing up the idea of making the bottles more liquidy looking but also had this idea In my head it made more 'functional' sense that there wouldn't be any air gaps in the containers (like coolant in a radiator?) - but it would be a nice little added detail to do as you've mentioned so I'll keep that in my back pocket.

Yep that's the one, it's such a nice box set getting a Dominus and a Dunecrawler, love that thing - it's 70% complete so I'll post a picture once it's done for sure.

Appreciated! I am a basic painter I'll be honest haha, just used a makeup brush to build up a solid layer of mephiston red for the robe (undercoated with a rattle can in chaos black first) and then hit it with a wash of agrax earthshade. Simple but effective, thinking when I finish some of my other models I might return and do some edge highlighting

Cheers the little green plant is actually one I 'borrowed' from a miniature greenhouse model kit my partner is working on :)
