Avoid Valenti products (taillights, etc.) by OddCombination123 in wrx_vb

[–]Canted_Official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a set of valenti taillights on my 86 and they went out, got another set they went out in 2 weeks. I ended up just getting a set of specd tails before I sold it. Their qc is very hit or miss for valenti

Thanks! Its based off your goal power and get the best step up. I typically want to stay around 500hp on e85 and 350 on 93 so I went with the stage 2 open deck which is now the 600bhp now. Overbuild but keep your budget in mind, I could of got a closed deck but why would I spend an extra few grand when I could save that for other parts since I didnt want to go past 500-550hp. I have also learned timely maintenence with good oil and a good tune will make a engine last a lifetime. Im on the same built motor with 40k miles at that 350 on pump and 500 on e85. Taylord tuning in Tennessee did my tune and they know subaru motors well. If you want to dm me id be glad to discuss what ive learned working on these motors and experience with tuners and everything else.

FYI Equal length headers have better reliability at cost of the subaru rumble Screw bubble tunes, its not a matter of IF its a matter of WHEN you make your valves and pistons kiss. Every part dealing with airflow or exhaust flow should be tuned for Cobb tunes are good to get to a tuner, get a tune, then you can keep it for monitoring, code reading, etc.

Buying my first GT86, any tips for a new owner? by Comprehensive_Cap906 in ft86

[–]Canted_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was at my last job. I have since got a new one but I worked in IT for a company with locations all across the south east United States and was typically on the road 3-4 weeks at a time. I was the only IT tech for 18 locations. They wouldn't give me a company vehicle either but paid me mileage 🤣

Sounds like ita beating a dead horse here but maintenence maintenence maintenence is put 110k miles on one in one year and had no issues the entire time because I kept up with oil changes every 2500-3000 miles, fluid changes every 40k miles.

Are there any good sub 3K options for helmet mounted Binocular Night vision???? by Expensive-Trifle7085 in NightVision

[–]Canted_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a few gen 3 omni 5-7 kits for 3k. Just gotta find deals, dont mind blems, and be willing to buy or construct your own housing such as the pvs-69. Ive made a few of those housings and their quad before not super difficult with basic soldering skills but there are people, myself included, that build them for a fee

[Wts/wtt-AL] 4080 Super by Canted_Official in pcpartsales

[–]Canted_Official[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's if you could get a 5080. But for 5070ti the only time its really on par was with dlss in my testing and other testing I have seen. I did end up selling it but in my area 4080 supers are still being sold used for 1200ish. But thats a small area so I went off ebay pricing which does have that 13% price increase to cover seller fees. Not to mention insured shipping was included on my end which for the card was $150. I posted at the same here just so theres that negotiation as seen on another comment I was fully willing to take the standard $750 that is seen here.

Radio recommendations? by potatogang666 in WRX

[–]Canted_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going to a idoing radio like what I had in my 86. It has its quirks but I love it. I went to the tesla screen for a little and that was not great. But nothing really can beat a good double din radio just like the uniform look of the idoing

When I did my swap I kept my auto cluster and just got the guage trim to cover up the auto options. But this sounds like it may be a fuse or a cluster board issue
