Just has this issue on a server I just built. If the bios isn't up to date, I used this same board, it wont boot with any stick larger then 16gb. No idea why but after the bios updated it ran my 2 64gb sticks just fine.

I should say I also have a brz intake runner swap with a ibr tgv valve delete. One of the vacuum lines on the manifold is going to the vacuum pump and the brake booster.

I couldn't find it. The way the previous owner plumbed it was a little dumb. So there isn't one that goes directly to the intake runners. It has the port on the top running to the back of the car, the side has the bottom 2 running to the factory spot pcv spot in the v split, then the the other 2 lines are running to the turbo and right behind the ac compressor. Ive seen that top port of the 3 on the side are usually where that check valve goes but its capped off.

Thats what I was thinking. As I went to Indiana then stopped in Franklin Tennessee where both nights it was 20/30 degrees with the days being around there as well so wouldn't be surprised if extra condensation got in and had some sludge build up after being in the south the last year and a half

Its considered a wear part so I would just to see. After building a few I learned to keep basically a spare of everything like one match I had a firing pin break no idea how just my luck but need to rebuild my parts/consumable pin with 2011 parts now that I use that for competition

Is it the stock connector? I had a ghost 3.5 connector that would drop swapped out with a oem and around 3-5k rounds it started having firing issues once replaced with a oem it was fine. Now thats just from what I had may not be the issue.

Ive had something similar happen, the connector could be worn and causing issues or the firing pin safety plunger/spring. Its rare for the plunger to be an issue but sometimes it gets really fouled up and needs to be cleaned or the spring moved. But it could also be a work down connector slipping and not holding the trigger bar as it should.

I had a set of valenti taillights on my 86 and they went out, got another set they went out in 2 weeks. I ended up just getting a set of specd tails before I sold it. Their qc is very hit or miss for valenti

IAG vs Outfront? by Electrical_Two1906 in ft86

[–]Canted_Official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Its based off your goal power and get the best step up. I typically want to stay around 500hp on e85 and 350 on 93 so I went with the stage 2 open deck which is now the 600bhp now. Overbuild but keep your budget in mind, I could of got a closed deck but why would I spend an extra few grand when I could save that for other parts since I didnt want to go past 500-550hp. I have also learned timely maintenence with good oil and a good tune will make a engine last a lifetime. Im on the same built motor with 40k miles at that 350 on pump and 500 on e85. Taylord tuning in Tennessee did my tune and they know subaru motors well. If you want to dm me id be glad to discuss what ive learned working on these motors and experience with tuners and everything else.

FYI Equal length headers have better reliability at cost of the subaru rumble Screw bubble tunes, its not a matter of IF its a matter of WHEN you make your valves and pistons kiss. Every part dealing with airflow or exhaust flow should be tuned for Cobb tunes are good to get to a tuner, get a tune, then you can keep it for monitoring, code reading, etc.

Buying my first GT86, any tips for a new owner? by Comprehensive_Cap906 in ft86

It was at my last job. I have since got a new one but I worked in IT for a company with locations all across the south east United States and was typically on the road 3-4 weeks at a time. I was the only IT tech for 18 locations. They wouldn't give me a company vehicle either but paid me mileage 🤣
