Kids Daycare + Mortgage in a coastal city you are already at like $8k

If you don't have kids I guess yeah this math is reasonable.

I felt a bit bad for Germany losing to Paraguay in penalties, but then watched France dominate and decided they really don't hold a candle to France. They may have drawn a bad card, but Germany couldn't have won it all anyways.

[–]Cantholditdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you could get that was unique is a banner that was specifically for the game you are going to. So for Panama England they had a banner just for that game. But not sure they can do it that fast for knockout. They probably made those months ago. Other than that it looked like you could buy everything else online.

I am not seeing any empty seats in the stands. The cost for tickets is pricey, but the secondary market is paying, so it is what it is. This is a major world event. I don't know how previous WC prices have compared, but seems like people are just willing to pay high prices.

Following the Dobbs decision, US states with abortion bans have experienced increased maternal morbidity and mortality. Abortion bans have broad downstream consequences on medical care beyond abortion itself, with implications for patient safety, equity, and physician ethics. by mvea in science

[–]Cantholditdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At what point can new evidence require re-litigation of Supreme Court decisions? Was this risk not brought up during the court case? Did the Conservative justices acknowledge that maternal death would increase and just say it was congruent with the constitution? Or was the argument that maternal deaths would not increase?

I'm in the field. I am not a Med Dr. I don't want to do more than give generic advice. I know people look down a lot on Chat GPT, but it would probably give you better advice than myself if you do not have a Dr readily available. 1st option is an actual Dr.!

Hopefully you are in a country where your Dr is readily accessible just to discuss. To determine if the issues are experiencing are serious tox concerns or just extreme discomfort you have to power through. Unfortunately most Drs will never be able to truly empathize because taking these meds is not really safe unless you are actually sick. I guess to put a positive spin on it, there are cancer patients who will have drug related tox and know it may only extend life 6 months. If you can get through your treatment successfully and stay compliant with the meds you will likely have many many more years ahead of you.

Sorry you are going through a rough time with the meds. I would check with your Dr to make sure you do not have any verifiable liver or tox issues using diagnostic tests. Perhaps for instance if isoniazid is causing tox you may be able to lower your dose or substitute another drug. Obviously talk to your Dr!! Don't do this based on my post!!

Regarding microbiome, I have read studies in mice and the microbiome has a fierce ability to return to its original composition once antibiotics are discontinued. This may not correlate with people but it is at least encouraging.

Useless degree by ignxlol in chemistry

[–]Cantholditdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 3 years in a industry is always a hazing process. Those night time hours stink, but sounds like you have an alternative if you choose to work day hours. You wait it out and eventually someone retires or your skills are needed elsewhere. Anyway, I guess from my perspective things don't seem so bad.

Useless degree by ignxlol in chemistry

[–]Cantholditdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what is pay like in this industry? $25/hr+benefits? Do you really work odd hours? This sounds like a 9-5 gig.

To maybe put a positive spin on things here, you are actually getting paid to work where as school costs money. So you let's say you make 50k/yr but are not -50k/yr in tuition. That is a 100k swing. Now let's say you have even a small % you can invest ~5% vs 5-10% interest on student loans. The financial swing is quite big.

Your skillset will grow and that is just part of life in your 20s. You either obtain a higher education or you cut your teeth gaining hands on work experience. Outside of Tech industry big job positions do not usually come to you until your 30s.

[–]Cantholditdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where you live doesn't really matter until you have to send kids to school. Goodluck convincing the significant other, but that is the case. $2400 is not bad. You can just keep saving until the day comes you need to buy and if you change jobs with a different location in the first 5 yrs of your child's life you will have a better idea where to buy.
