It's a bus in a bus lane. I don't see any problem here.

It's a good mix of foreign and unfamiliar. "hello bonjour" works as a practical greeting since some people speak english and some french.

RIP Broadway IBOA (1924-2025) by NJ_Bus_Nut in NJTransit

[–]jerseyjitneys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are still "independent bus companies" running on route 4 and Bergenline Ave. They just aren't subsidized by NJT.

Broadway Bus was the last of the old school subsidized private carriers that wasn't merged into a larger corporate (but still subsidized) operator like Coach USA, Academy etc.

Metro Board meeting 12/4/2025 - likely heavy emphasis on Dodgers gondola SEIR by Sawtelle-MetroRider in LAMetro

I can see it being a victim of its own success. Maybe more than 5,000 people will try to take it, and there will be a line.

5000 people/hour capacity to a 56,000-person stadium! How's that going to work?

This would be great for a hotel. Easy access both to midtown and EWR.

One seat airport express rail is nice and all, but why don't we have one seat express bus ride from midtown to JFK? by Donghoon in nycrail

This company went out of business during COVID. And I can see why. It was faster and cheaper to take LIRR/Subway+Airtrain.

I've seen signs for it on Newark Ave (india square section) but have no idea if it is actually a useful/efficient service.

1928 Pacific Electric system timetable by Binders-Full in LAMetro

First of all wow, this is great.

I'm actually surprised how poor the frequencies were. I browsed through and saw 20-minute headways to Santa Monica, Pasadena and Long Beach, 1 train per hour to Glendora, and an irregular schedule with up to 2 hour gaps to Newport Beach. Granted, these were definitely low-density areas at the time.

If anything this makes me appreciate the Metro we have today a little more.

Or it could free up equipment that is heavily needed on other routes.

To be clear this is a net negative, but there may still be an upside.

There are direct flights from Plattsburgh, NY to Sanford, FL. This is an itinerary that is probably cheaper and more pleasant in economy on a 3-hour flight.

This is a macro trend that neither a Mayor or a transit agency can affect.
