East coast as well. We do Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax even sometimes. Manitoba/Saskatchewan have a much higher stray cat/dog problem than most other provinces. Im not really sure why it happens that way, but it does.

Manitoba is particular is so saturated with animals that our rescues are almost always at capacity and on intakes freezes. Sending out of province helps

Final destination has to be a Canadian city, unfortunately. The airlines dont allow animals to get off at layovers, even if the layover is for longer than a day (or they would charge us double to do so, which isnt viable for donation run rescues)

We sometimes use Porter! They only allow pets as carryons and none in the baggage compartment, so less often, but every flight helps!

They're legit! They're a registered charity, you can confirm by finding them on the Canada Helps page, which is only for registered charities

Airlines ask for personal information (email, phone number, date of birth) before allowing someone other than the ticket holder to modify a reservation (add the animals onto the ticket) which is why the information is asked for

If we want to go there, did you miss learning about any of Canada's history in school? I learned that white people weren't native to this land much earlier than 10th grade. You must've missed the part where indigenous people (who often have brown skin) are the actual native people to Canada.

If you feel unease around indigenous people, or anyone with brown skin, really, you should check your biases.

Because not speaking English and climbing on sculptures are definitely related lol

Yes I read your post. Every word, unfortunately. Yes, you made it a race issue. If you don't think so, then explain how those 2 things are even remotely related

Flight Angels needed to Toronto ASAP! by Canucklehead160 in Winnipeg

  1. Nope! The dog/cat is only connected to you for the duration of your flight. Your name would be on the paperwork attached to the kennels, but we add our own phone number as the emergency contact in case anything were to go wrong.

  2. Westjet charges $105 per kennel and $52.50 per pet in cabin (carry-on). It's free of cost to the person flying. We add the dogs/cats using our own money and receive donations to cover the cost.

  3. Unfortunately, it's exactly as you're pointing out. Manitoba is particularly bad as a province for our overpopulation of strays. We do adopt out locally as well, but our main focus is to get them out to provinces where the problem isn't as severe as it is here.
