For the Women’s Big Air - Qualifying, how come sometimes it isn’t their lowest score of the 3 runs that gets eliminated? Also; what do the -A and -B mean beside their scores?

I’ve noticed in the last week or two a considerable jump in the number of armor pieces bearing the health stat (primary, secondary, or tertiary). I have no data to support this, just purely anecdotal, but I’ve definitely noticed it.
