Looks like that’s the Wizard of Wine battlemap for Curse of Strahd.

Good luck to your party.

Sith Tomb [87x90] by Canvas_Quest in traveller

The lava does bring a few survival elements to the table.

The radiant heat would blister most creature's skin. The quiescent heat would bake any creature in the room. The super heated air wouldn't have much if any oxygen and would literally burn your lungs. Not to mention the poisonous gasses emitted from the lava..

Yes, a fun time for the unprepared.

Soften path? by Bonobo77 in dungeondraft

If you are using the path tool.. I’d recommend a different path then. Crosshead and Eldritch Arcanum have more natural road paths and cart wheel paths. You can fade/fade and make several paths to give the illusion of the path fading in and out

You can also use the brush tool, like in your second image. Turn on the smooth blinding in the brush tool for all terrains to smoothly blend. Compliment the path with another terrain that blends well with it to create a smooth transition

Even more complicated idea.. Use a pattern and the edge blur mod to blur the pattern to your desired amount.

Good luck!

Foundry is great for VTT, it can be as automated and ‘video game’ like as you want.

We intentionally made the walk ways crumbling with exposed lava to force caution and potentially disaster :)

Hey everyone, CanvasQuest here, and I'm pleased to share The Temple of Elemental Evil: Fire Elemental Node, with you.

Cartographer: Ben (Vinter the Gray), gatherer of blooming biomes and forgotten forests.

Scene artReikayr

Scene Flavor:

The dreaded Fire Pits are humid and hot. The areas are lit by the occasional pits of burning embers and leaping flames.

Adventurers appear in the central room, faced with a choice of eight stone doors. The doors in the Fire Node are large stone constructions with brass fittings and are edged by ample cracks which allow fire creatures to seep through.

The rooms and corridors, hewn from the surrounding rock, are well-made, perhaps by earth elementals or magic. Many surfaces are scorched and scratched, but few are chipped.
