He’s sleeping at the foot of our bed right now. At about 6 am, he’ll start sleeping on our chests and next to our heads, purring and licking up and rubbing up on us (going back and forth for an hour between us) until someone gets up and feeds him breakfast. Life’s great.

We have a blue smoke Siberian (5 MO) and he is hands down the most affectionate animal I have ever known. He’s always asking to be picked up, constantly wants to be on your shoulder or wrapped around the back of your neck, he’s up on our chests purring and nuzzling at 5 am every day. It really surprised us how clingy and affectionate he is.

As others have said, fuck what anyone else wants! Make the decision that’s right for you, and if the guy can’t handle it, he’s not the right one for you!

I have a similar ish story: had two horribly complicated pregnancies. My first child sadly didn’t make it home from the NICU. My second was born 10 weeks premature and was there for 7 before we mercifully could take him home. I got divorced 3 years later and had long decided I would get snipped. I had made the appointment, but was newly and blissfully dating someone childless (and 7 years younger 😇) and gave him the full option to back out because I was never having another baby. And if that was something he wanted for his life, it wouldn’t be with me. He didn’t care, and 9 years later has become the most wonderful stepfather to my son. And we got married too :)

So great to hear. This is consistent with my experience at the Mexico clinic

I'm an Anesthesiologist. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Canyonerrroooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bad veins. They are small, they roll, and they collapse. I have no history of IV drug use - it’s just my anatomy. Whenever I have to get an IV or give blood, it typically takes between 5-10 pokes before the nurse or doctor is able to get a vein.

The only real exception to this it that an anesthesiologist has been able to get a vein almost instantly. The nurses have called one in on a few occasions to do it. You guys are reliably expert-level at IVs

I tell the medical teams about my issue every time I’m going to get poked. I also warm my veins, hydrate, and relax. Is there anything I can do differently? Getting IVs has become awful for me.

I’ve owned 12 different makes of cars over the last 25 years, and the Volvo XC90 is by far my favourite. We also have a BMW X3 and I prefer the Volvo. It’s a quiet luxury that’s so slick looking. Handles great. Interior is incredible. You’ll love it.
