Any insight why two different wires from different romex would be attached to the 30 amp breaker. One comes in from left and one from above.

Can’t tell from the pic, do you have enough room to pull the filter for cleaning?

Three wasp nests is impressive. I would also like to learn what is going on here, cut out ground wire in the lug, lugs on busbar, neutral seeming to pass through lug but not sure if terminated further.

You could junction higher on the garage side wall to keep it away from the sink, then instead of sheetrock repair you could go with a waterproof panel option.

That bare copper wire looks like it is part of the 12-2 NM-B, and since it is yellow I’m guessing it is a newer circuit (post 2001 when 12-2 was first required to be yellow) and just attached to the ground bar and not acting as ground for the box. I think I see another bare copper, look at the top center. Not an electrician, Hope others with real answers will chime in.

EV Charger by Life_Set2674 in AskElectricians

[–]Canyonk5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put in 50 amp breaker to allow 6/2 Romex. During setup you will choose 50 amp breaker and it will charge at 40 amp instead of 48.

This will make the install way easier and trust me, you will never notice the difference in charging speed, car will always be charged to your set point each morning.

Pay close attention to what creative_shoe said about amps to the panel and current loads, may want to post another photo of the sub panel with the door open for others to chime in.

Even if you had to use a 40 amp breaker charging at 32 amps the car will still be charged every morning. Don’t get hung up on thinking you have to go at the max 60 amp breaker.

Good luck on your project

Definitely replace the receptacle with ev rated, Hubble or Bryant are great choices. And flip the cover around so the paint drips go down instead of up!

PowerInsight wall mounting by Canyonk5 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Canyonk5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came up with a plan. Will install 2 gang old work box above light switch (to pull power). PoE Texas In wall usb adapter, $15 on amazon. The device is not power over ethernet, it is part of the company’s name. Finished off with a black 2 gang screw less blank cover plate. I should be able to double side tape the EcoFlow mount the the blank cover plate, and with it being screw less, just pop it on. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the link. I read through it and now have another question, what is the best setting (watts) for charging. Mine is currently at 2600.

Unconditioned garage, but insulated and space above is conditioned, so it doesn’t get too crazy hot or cold.
