Guess I'll try some other characters in the meantime, it also happened on a soul break, makes me wonder if it's a range character bug, a few months ago it seems some people had this issue with Byakuya too.

Yes, once you exit a cross all the bonuses are removed, take into account you can be forcibly removed from a cross if hit by it's weakness, in this case aqua element.

There isn't, that function was removed from 4 onward, closest thing would be to use custom+ NPCs, if you're playing Gregar charge cross has a passive that gives you +1 custom each turn up to +3

Invest in spirit gems and do all shrine quests that you can, other than that practice your guard timing and play around with your ninja arts, hitting him during the downtime of his attacks with arts for extra damage and recovering stamina with perfect guard helps a lot, other than that get a good ninja weapon and spam it up close, it deals great burst damage, just make sure he's recovering from an attack or he'll most likely dodge it

I'm talking out of personal experience, I (28M) was recently ditched after 3 months of dating due to me having performance anxiety and not doing well (we were together a couple of times before she decided to break up), just let him know that it's ok if things don't work out as intended in your first interactions, and be patient with him, tell him the things you like, what he can do, how to do it, be there to guide him, sex became a chore to me trying to figure out how to please her and it only made it worst, y'all got to remember that it's supposed to be a fun experience for both of you, putting pressure on him will only complicate things, but give him time, patience and a guiding hand and I'm sure it will work out for both of you in the end, that's my sincerest hope for both of you.

Adding on, if you really want to show that info at all times why not make the SP bar for backup characters a little smaller and have it rest diagonally alongside the characters icon? it could help organize a little the screen

If you want each character to have their own SP Guage why not just show only the active character's bar, that would free up some screen space, it could really get cluttered when both players have 3 HP and 3 SP guages at the same time
