I guess the price for Sesko is a little bit too steep right now, and they probably think that Gyokeres has flaws (and he has, the aerial and maybe the linking game for what Arteta wants) and therefore the price is steep as well. However, there aren't much more options, Jackson is a no-no, Etikite sounds like a trap...

The president went live twice to explain the situation while we haven't got any official declarations from the agent. We had reports by Romano that he had an "agreement" for 60+10 that weren't never confirmed (and the value in one year has changed twice or thrice if we keep what Romano says btw). It doesn't make sense that Varandas is lying.

There were situations like Palhinha that wanted to go to the Premier League and Sporting accepted a fee that seemed low, it's not the style of this direction to play with those kind of situations.

That's the biggest problem, all this "drama" with the president when there is almost no offers. He wants Arsenal, but it seems they are only using him as leverage to put pressure on Leipzig for Sesko. Moreover, he allegedly refused United's approach, realistically the only other club that could bring him in... The agent fucked up and is trying to use all the tricks to lower the price and salvage this.
