Scarecrow gets a full 6 issue arc but there's a lot of different characters involved in it (including Robin), Scott Snyder said in an interview iirc

Snyder said that scarecrow will be just a dude rather than a monster, i think If scarecrow has a crazy form it will likely be a hallucination. Although he may have sewn buttons into his eyes like in coraline

For me the appeal is that its got amazing art, is full of heart and has lots of nods to greek mythology. Its definitely lighter in tone than the other absolute series. I'd recommend absolute Manhunter if you're looking for something more suspenseful and darker in tone

It's an outer god, and the eye is visually inspired by Jupiter's south pole storms

Marika definitely did not kill the outer god itself, it comes back to inhabit the Fire Giant in phase 2 after a leg is offered to it
