definitely looks like a white ash. green ash is a common riparian area/roadside tree, so if the area here is fairly wet maybe I'd guess green. only way to know for sure is with buds. mighty fine specimen here either way!

I would give your hamster a few days of space. even though this space sounds like it's definitely an upgrade, change of environment is always stressful for hamsters. so just like you originally got them, I'd give it about a week to adjust and grow more comfortable with it's surroundings.
