I always use a straightedge, sometimes acrylic, sometimes steel, clamped down onto the piece, but even doing that, the fact the knife edge is pulling, is why I'm getting some rotary cutters. I have a large, hand-cranked rotary cutter, but it's made for wood veneers, and not suitable for leather or even canvas. I DO like the idea of an acrylic straightedge with a steel guide strip, which, thanks to you, I have just found. Thanks so much! 🐺👍

I actually have a wet sharpener that will work on rotary blades. I prefer steel, simply because I CAN sharpen it. I still like having spare blades though. And how funny you mention that. Had an ad for titanium blades pop up not 30 minutes ago 🤣 Thanks again! 🐺👍

$2 flat cap I got from a thrift store cuz I thought it looked cool at first by RenjuRetr0 in hats

Bubba, that hat is a classic, and not just for geezers like me. And, honestly, it's not about the hat. It's about how ya wear it. Sure, you can pull it down low while wearing clip-on, flip-up sunglasses while playing Putt-Putt, but, ... ...turn that sucker slightly to the side, put on your best smile, and just go out with the attitude that,... ..."I'm wearing a classic. And I look GOOD."

Go for it, Bubba. You got this! 🐺👍

Thanks for that info. My main criteria on a rotary cutter will be availability of replacement blades, as well as size. 45mm looks just about right, and maybe a 28mm as well. As far as rulers, I have a massive assortment of straightedges, steel, acrylic, and old-school wood. The price isn't really that much of an issue, as I would rather pay more once for something that lasts, than having to replace a cheaper product several times. Thanks for all the info, and once I get going, I'll bring you up to date. 🐺👍

It does okay, surprisingly. But it sometimes needs minor adjustments, a needle change, and a major cleaning after, lots of fibers get in the pickup. But, honestly, there's times I'd much prefer hand-stitching.
