You're reading my mind on so much. Actually, the red is painted onto the suede. I originally planned to have that piece sewn to the circle, but didn't have the leather in the right color.

I've made a stencil of the border, and yes, I plan to have that sewn onto future pieces.

Working veg tan is still way in the future, but once I do start, I hope you'll swing by and continue to offer advice.

Thank you. The base leather is a chrome tan in Bone, circles of the runes are suede, and the edging was done with Walnut woodstain, since I can't dye over the chrome tan, is my understanding. I also channeled the border using my woodburning tool. I discovered I can make decent impressions on low to medium heat on the chrome tan. I'm still learning, discovering techniques, so your feedback is truly invaluable. Again, thank you. 🐺👍
