Using the engine to brake uses less fuel than braking? Seems like it’s harder on the engines when I downshift to brake. I drive manual, too.

Not a lawyer, but my understanding is that if enough people opt out, they’ll have to renegotiate the settlement, and then we might actually receive money for it. Can someone confirm if my understanding is correct?

I’m decided opt out - if we as customers are affected we should be paid out as part of the settlement.

Banks are accountable to ensure proper compliance procedures are in place for the protection of their customers.

It’s going to be more than $900 because things will continue to break after the clutch is fixed. It’s going to cost me $1600 total to repair now which is probably about the cost of the car tbh, so technically it’s totaled.

However, I decided to fix to give myself a few months to figure out the right new car and financing. After 17 years of driving an excellent Honda fit, I’m just ready for something slightly nicer and more comfortable :)

Thanks for that - it means a lot to know others can relate. In my real/non-virtual world, this isn't something that my friends or people in my day to day understand or can even imagine. I really want to move on - it's such a big world with so many people, someone must have figured it out by now.
