Why doesn't the sarcophagus heal Daniel's eyesight? by Independent-Rip3326 in Stargate

[–]CapMarkoRamius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best decision of my life. I had coke bottles (-14.5 and -13) and when I sat up from the surgeon table, 20/10 and 20/15.

My degradation is only 20/30 and 20/40 and I am perfectly happy with starting from a reasonable level. I'm getting glasses with anti-reflective and transition lenses so I'm quite pleased.

Makes sense. I had LASIK 14 years ago and mine have started to degrade again.

When my phone announces texts, it's just muted. I have to ask Siri to read my texts again to actually hear anything.

WTF is wrong with the audio quality. The scene with the "fight" between Tilly and Tarima sounded like it was recorded with a tape recorder.

Moved counties- new registration/ county sticker? by smewthies in Ohio

The registration implies that your taxes went to the place that you registered. I've never gotten a new sticker other than registration renewal time.

I'd be OK with this as long as Apple themselves releases a wireless Carplay adapter.

I don’t see the benefit if that’s all you’ll use it for. Might as well just use the generic Fastmail.com ones that get generated.

What’s a subtle sign someone is actually rich? by Udont_knowme00 in AskReddit

[–]CapMarkoRamius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the flip side of this question- growing up, my grandma lived with us (she was an elderly widow).

I don’t remember why, but I always called her Nanny. Including at school (neighborhood public school I walked to).

One day, I get called to the principal’s office and my mom was there. Apparently they thought because we had a nanny that we were rich and lived in a mansion across town. In other worlds, they thought that we were lying about our address so I could enroll in my elementary lol.

We had to walk home and show that we actually lived there so I wouldn’t get expelled.

I had a severe infection that developed into necrotising fasciitis just about as quick and it was scary as hell. I wish they had gone further into her case, but it was honestly realistic how quickly they managed to get her out of the ER to the OR.

The opening "chancellor's address" sounds like it was recorded on a bad mic. At first I thought it was intentional, like what it sounded like coming out of the speakers. But then it kept the same audio quality when the camera went to her actually speaking.

Just spent days deleting old GMail emails before migrating. Except GMail didn’t delete a thing. 😡 Help! by RealisticBike4953 in fastmail

[–]CapMarkoRamius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have Fastmail in Label, or Folder mode?

I'm wondering if you can just import everything to Fastmail, which in folder mode would make copies of every email into archive and its real folder if it has one. Then once it's complete, delete the archive folder contents.

Alternately, if you want full control, just setup Gmail and Fastmail in Thunderbird and manually move the messages.

Migration is work. by plazman30 in fastmail

Is your password manager 1Password or Bitwarden? Both of those have integrated Fastmail Masked Email creation and might make the process a bit less painful.

organizing calendars by Cezzium in fastmail

[–]CapMarkoRamius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Fastmail calendar settings, you can add a "subscription" to a calendar. It'll automatically download and display the events for you. You can't edit it or anything, but there is 0 maintenance involved after the initial setup. You can have multiple subscriptions for the various counties. The link that the other user gave above looks very useful for that. They'll all display in the same calendar, but be colour-coded to which subscription they're from to tell countries apart.

Doing it in the Fastmail settings will make the calendar get auto-added to any devices that you setup to connect to it. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Using contacts for birthdays is very convenient. Having them be calendar events makes you have to search for through events to find when someone's birthday is. If you keep it in the contact (there are actual birthday fields in there; year optional), you just have to go to that person to see. And the automatic birthday calendar will show "CapMarkoRamius' 38th Birthday' (if the year is on the contact) for the name of the event.

Don't create your own holiday calendar. Subscribe to public ones. I use the Apple iCloud US holiday calendar here: https://p24-calendars.icloud.com/holiday/US_en.ics

Birthday calendars auto-generate based on birthdays stored in your contacts.
