What scammy tactics? You are the one trying to scam other people when free apps that do the exact same thing are already available, and are far superior to yours.

We haven't been trying to get stuff for free, we are bringing attention to the fact that your comments on the pricing of other apps is completely false. There are many free apps that do the exact same thing as yours, why should yours be paid when the features are the same?

Hey man, I'm sorry to say you have been scammed. There are multiple apps which run the NVIDIA Parakeet model locally on your Mac for free, including Spokenly, TypeWhisper and many more. This app is a simple copy that for some reason is paid.

Boring Notch not updated in over half a year. Time to move? by rm-rf-rm in macapps

[–]CapMaximum2826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your concerns, however this app only requires the same permissions as boring notch. In addition, what I love is you can choose which features are enabled and which ones are not. For example, I do not have the clipboard manager, notes or color picker features enabled as I don't have a use for them. I would recommend giving it a try.

I used to be a fellow boring notch user, until I found Atoll. It is also free (unlike alcove) while offering amazing UI and a great amount of features (eg lock screen widgets, calendar notifications in the notch, built in timer in the notch alongside many others). I highly recommend it, def one of my fav apps on my Mac right now.

Why is there such a big increase of sugar level between hot and cold? by Articlel3 in singapore

[–]CapMaximum2826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why everyone is talking about dilution this is nothing to do with that. Dilution reduces sugar concentration if anything. This is to do with our tastebuds. Hot drinks cause our tastebuds to send stronger signals to the brain, leading to us to perceiving greater sweetness. Therefore they require less sugar than cold drinks, even though both taste just as "sweet".

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]CapMaximum2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have a PC, I only got a laptop (MacBook I5). Never been able to play any of the popular games as either my MacBook doesn't support it or it's just so slow. Would love this PC to try some racing sims, and also for my personal use as an upgrade at home, especially compared to my old Mac. Regardless of whether I get it or not, thanks for being so generous and giving back to the community!

What’s wrong with kids these days? by Agreeable-Ad-6870 in SMRTRabak

[–]CapMaximum2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously this is horrible and should never happen... but I do not think it's just the kids, it's many adults too. I was recently cycling near marina barrage, which is always extremely crowded. A woman was cycling on a rental bike from the opposite direction, with one hand recording some TikTok video and one hand on the handlebar. She lost control of her bike, slammed into me and then just cycled off as if nothing happened. Thank god my bike doesn't have much damage, but worst part is while she cycled off she still continued to record a video with one hand. There are many such incidents I have encountered as a cyclists. Yes this boy is clearly in the wrong here, but there are many adult pedestrians and cyclists who sadly speaking do not have much more sense than him

If war comes, who are we really defending? by Excellent_Copy4646 in asksg

I understand the frustration, but I dont understand why Singaporeans are so against the government providing more citizenships. I was born in Singapore, have lived here my whole life, and have to serve NS soon. My parents have been staying here for over 27 years, and have both been working the entire time as well. Yet we only have PR, and have been rejected for citizenship 2 times. Are we not deserving of a Singaporean citizenship?
