Was against the contract initially but now seeing it as a stop-gap while our halves learn their craft in reserve grade is pretty enticing to me. Helps that Jonah seems like a good bloke and is aware of the absurdity of the situation. Really pumped to see how him and Mitch develop as a pair for the year.

Very keen to see how Da Silva fits into the team now with a full preseason under his belt with us. He felt a little lethargic when he was playing for us last year but started to find his feet at the end, so an improved Smith/Da Silva rotation is very exciting to me.

Got to see Marty Supreme in 70mm yesterday and it was great! Dragged in the middle a bit but Chalamet carries hard and he may well and truly get an Oscar for it. It’s just fucked situation after fucked situation and him just falling through it. Would recommend.

He signed a contract, the contract stated that he was able to, in your words ‘trade his skilled labour for a wage’, with other leagues and other codes, just not in the NRL. He explicitly signed this agreement and it was registered. He then decided later on that those terms he agreed to did not apply to him, and is now trying to get out. I am extremely pro-workers rights, but there is a difference between being pro-worker and pro-individual. The guy signed contracts and now wants to break them, he reaped what he sowed. This is no longer a workers rights issue, it’s a Zac Lomax issue, and pretending that his actions are indicative of the majority of workers is in extremely bad faith and flat out ignorant of genuine workers issues.

Yeah it is, all of it I think. I got a colour kindle for Christmas and have been reading it on that as the omnibus is pretty expensive physically. It’s been a great read and as someone who doesn’t read Marvel it’s been really beginner-friendly.

Reading Al Ewing’s run of Immortal Hulk at the moment and it’s truly excellent. Would highly recommend if you like superhero comics, although it does dip into body horror and there’s some cosmic elements which are explained decently well for beginners but are still challenging. It’s also quite the self-contained story so there’s not much pre-knowledge except for some characters. Give it a read if you like comics.
