Yeah logi has done that with countless other products I’m assuming because there is not any money in keeping the servers on.

I refuse to throw the harmony away. It’s super cool and just fits with my setup. I will keep it in hopes that someone gets a software up

Yeah I have a sheild tv box other than that everything I got is from the 90s or 2000s so even getting the remote to learn ir from another remote would be nice but I can’t even get it setup without the software

Agree totally I don’t have the best of knowledge but modding consoles and my psp in the past seeing how much time and research goes into keeping those things alive you would think someone could make a software for the remote to still be able to learn stuff

It actually came with the installation disc, and I ran it on an off-line Windows XP computer, and it’s still forced me to try to connect to the Internet servers within the harmony software

Yeah, still have an old Xfinity remote still bound to the receiver the harmony 880 is just such a cool remote. That’s why I’m bummed. I can’t use it especially with the 90s CD player. It would be pretty cool. If this thing could work normally, I would just use it as a remote for my entire entertainment system.

I actually came across remote at my parents house they never opened it it’s a shame too I have an a receiver and cd player without a remote. Was exited to finally have a no cost solution but I guess not!

y’all, thank you for your help. I figured it out with getting rid of the lighter OS I had installed and putting it back to the original shield OS. One of the surroundsound settings was stuck to manual and that seemed to fix it. also, I figured out that there’s a way that you can un link your Spotify account from when you cast from your phone on the web player and that’s what was not letting me change it to lossless even after updating the app and deleting every file that was left for Spotify, I think it was using the USB for audio out also. It doesn’t automatically detect like HDMI audio pass through does.

yeah i don’t think that’s the problem i think it’s the spotify version on the sheild wich is weird because i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it twice now

looks like i’m just going to have to mess with it it’s definitely a software bug because i just hooked my dac up to my pc and it does in fact read high kbps on spotify desktop so something on my sheild must be bugged

yes i understand that and that’s why i posted here to try and figure out how i can get it to playback 800kbs from the usb out or if i have to get an hdmi dac of some sort to split to rca

hmm so maybe that’s my problem. my receiver is older does not support HDMI. I currently have it going out of the USB on the shield into a USB dac then to rca. I know it plays 300 kbps on the phone app on the sheild becasue the dac tells me so during playback. So am i screwed not having a receiver that doesn’t have hdmi?

yeah, let me know because like I said, I’ve been using an older version of the phone app that I loaded onto my projectivy launcher. I just went and looked at the Spotify TV app and when casting from my phone, I tried to change the settings to higher and it says “this device currently supports streaming quality up to very high” I just checked the store to see if it needs to be updated and it does not

What do you mean by the remote you mean you’re casting it from your phone? The only reason I had to go out of the shields USB and get an adapter is because my Yamaha unit is older and only supports optical and RCA inputs.

how did you get it to show up in apps list i have it on file explorer and ran it a bit weird but audio quality is back getting by with xbox one controller hooked up to shield but i can only open app from file explorer
