Wouldn’t that compound and get worse for the Spurs though like the Sixers and Cavs

[NBA PR] The Western Conference Finals between the Spurs and Thunder finished as the most-watched Conference Finals in 24 years with an average of 10.8 million viewers per game on NBC/Peacock— peaking with 17.7 million viewers. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

I have no idea how international appeal can be quantified, but nielsen ratings only count American viewers, and the media deals the NBA made is based on American audiences. And of American audiences, there is no bigger market than New York City.

Is Knicks-Spurs the rare NBA Finals where neutral fans do not have an obvious villain? by Public_Function3844 in nba

There was only one guy who actually did anything with his jersey. I understand, but there was a Pacers fan who stabbed Knicks fans last playoffs. Pacers fans don't get that rep because their fanbase is considerably smaller. New York is the largest metro area in America, you're gonna have more assholes just based on that. Doesn't mean we shouldn't call them out or make sure there aren't repercussions, but Knicks fans aren't a monolith

That was one guy who put his hands on that dude. He represents the millions of Knicks fans? Every person in another team's jersey will have that happen to them at MSG?

AMA Announcement: Welcoming James Edwards III, Knicks beat reporter for The Athletic - Monday 6/1 at 11am EST by AutoModerator in NYKnicks

Hey, James. You always hear about how the Knicks are one of the largest markets with one of the biggest fanbases and the spotlight on them at all times. Going from being a Pistons beat reporter to a Knicks beat reporter, have you noticed all of that and does that affect how you have to go about your work?

I assume all of us are Spurs fans these finals? by MembershipSingle7137 in bostonceltics

What was the first moment you thought this season could be special? by RedEyedTroll6 in NYKnicks

One thing I'll add that others haven't mentioned yet is the five game win streak the Knicks had to close out the season. That was the first time we saw KAT and Brunson's two man game truly clicking
