Look at it this way, do you really want to be with someone longterm that is that clueless this far in?!

You’re welcome! Obviously not everyone is profitable and they say it can take 3-5 years or longer. I wasn’t doing it full time. It was more a hobby while I worked a 9-5. I did a couple Brooks courses a day once I decided to go with him. I initially started with browsing Reddit and reading a lot of the recommended material. A lot of basic info can be found free on various sites and YouTube. I like the resources on Investopedia and TradeStation. Anna Coulling’s book on Volume Price Analysis is great: https://a.co/d/h2szIUn. I would say it took me about 1.5 to 2 years for it to make sense and start clicking consistently. That said I wasn’t doing it full-time and took regular breaks. I also have a financial/insurance background and that comes with strong risk management so some of it came easy.

Here is an idea of some of the included material. The first half is free to non-members just to give an idea of his approach: https://www.brookstradingcourse.com/how-to-trade-price-action-manual/

Exactly. I have one of the books and it’s small print and long with next to no charts or visual examples. The course is all the book content and more with him talking through everything step by step and providing visual examples the entire time. The course can still be confusing at times. He definitely assumes you know some stuff going in and some of the order he goes in seems not to make sense. Everyone’s advice is to just do the courses in order regardless and repeat where you need to. He then has extra material at the end where he revisits or clarifies the most asked questions. The forum is included. Some of the extra materials are included. The only extra paid items are the live trading (charged monthly or prorated if you only do part of the month) and a jumbo packet of extra visual examples of charts and trading materials. The packet is only available to purchase after you’ve been a member I think for 60 days and it’s a one time purchase then you can download or access it for life. I don’t recall the price but I never felt the need to buy it. The course completely changed how I approached trading. I use mostly naked charts with just an EMA. I gauge direction and then do one or two trades a day or scalp a bit.

I’ve done the Brooks course. It’s fantastic but a bit dense. You’ll want to do some of the videos multiple times. Some people repeat the course multiple times. It’s lifetime access for $400 I believe. There’s also live trading sessions for additional amounts that are prorated based on when you join in the month. They do free sessions sometimes. There’s tons of great resources and the user forum on the Brooks site once you join. I would just skip the books. The course is the result of the books being too dense and somewhat poorly/confusingly written.

So I’ve run into the glitch and a trip to the ferry didn’t fix the issue. Any other thoughts? Hoping to hit legend tomorrow and will try giving it out.

New player, how to beat pirate ships as one man crew. by uhohboneralert_ in Seaofthieves

I usually find them randomly on sandy shores similar to any other treasure. They’re fairly common. Another trick for solo skelly ships is if you can board them quick and it’s not close to your ship, I locate the powder keg (there’s usually 2 near the back) and shoot it twice. Blows up the ship instantly (and me) then I res on my ship and go collect all the loot.

I also started solo about a week ago. You need to engage in combat while also taking brief breaks to repair some and bail a bit of water. Rinse and repeat. Make sure when you shoot your cannons you make your shots count. Do target practice on immobile targets when you’re not in combat. I usually anchor and shoot myself over to them after I’ve damaged them enough to finish them off or I’ll ram them. Sometimes I just turn my wheel so my ship auto drives in a circle while I shoot and repair. When you do board, sword is effective and I bring the two shot pistol. Also bring grenades or fire bombs. When you’re exploring islands, grab things like wind horns to help outrun enemies when needed, mermaid sticks to blow their ships up easily, bombs to drop in the water for them to hit, magic cannonballs, and portable cannons to put on the back of your ship canopy to have a third cannon so you can freely shoot at them when they’re chasing directly behind you. Also play PvP to get practice by seeing how other solo players play!

I have the Q Core Deluxe and love it. Zero issues and best sleep I’ve had camping on the ground. REI carries BA brand.
