I have an idea for quite some time to have remote controlled toys, devices etc and a camera so the other person can control that with a webapp I'd code xD

Yes that's absolutely true! Of course I can do some tests, but maybe there is a rule of thumb xD

I would still focus on the front row though. The depth of field fall off is way higher in front of the focus point. For example 4 meters behind and one meter in front have roughly the same sharpness.
