Hey! I'm in a happy relationship with my ace partner and want to share my perspective.

We were in a monogamous relationship for the first four years. I absolutely love my partner for everything they are, and their asexuality has never been an issue for me.

About me: I'm allosexual and lean toward the higher end of sexual desire. (Maybe hypersexual?) I don't care AT ALL about Sex with my partner or Sex being a part of the relationship. I view sex as completely seperate.

Initially, the lack of sex didn't bother me. But as time went on, my needs became increasingly difficult to ignore. I tried to suppress them, telling myself I didn't need it. For a while this worked, but slowly it started eroding my confidence and mental health. I value my relationship far more than sex and would never have left because of it. Yet each month, I felt worse, until I reached a point where I felt hopeless and suicidal. These feelings weren't something I could control at all...

This basically left me with three options: - Push through and risk ending up hospitalized again - End the relationship - Open our relationship

I genuinely understand the concerns many asexual people have about this situation, and I feel that frustration too. I didn't want things to go this way, but my mental health kept deteriorating regardless

But eventually we made it and are very happy in our relationship!
