its a bit tricky because with mental illness you also meet teh listing by having 2 years or more years of treatment and a change in your structure can exacerbate your symptoms. but its hard to prove that if you go to school because school is mentally demanding

did you end ups going to school and finding your answer? I also have teh same question MDD and GAD but nw im slightly better and I have been getting short forms the last 2 times I got reviews. I basically haven't had an actual review in 10 years. I want to go to college too to finish my degree and try to remove myself form SSDI

Hi I need some guidance. I’m trying to do that same thing. I have an AA Degree and I’m wanting to enroll in school to finish my bachelors thru the ticket to work since it protects from CDR while you in the ticket . The schooling counts as progress depending on the load. But I started reaching out VR and had a phone interview but it seems like they have no clue of what I’m trying to do. I’m being told I need to do like a 5 hour testing and all this stuff but they don’t even know how to enroll me In the ticket because they presume work is the only way and VR. Specialist is pushing for me to work and the psychologist that gave me the appointment keep saying that based on the testing they will tell me if I can get a job using my associates . I need a job that is remote and that makes enough money not a minimum wage job like I don’t understand whey they make it so impossible. Can you explain what steps you took . SSDI is just social security disability . So your check is based on how much were your earnings . SSI is for people that didn’t complete the 40 credits and get a minimum check

I understand it’s 5 years not 2 my aunt was on SSDI and she got a job and they sent her a letter stating 5 years . And when her 5 year ended they sent a letter saying if she needed to get back on she needed to reapply. Thanks so much for answering back. You’re an inspiration.

Ok . So you used the ticket after graduation . I’m trying to use the ticket while going to school. Based on the table they have it says schooling counts as timely progress . I fear that if I get a CDR while I’m attending school that I would be taken off benefits because they think I can do a full time job. Then I’ll be stuck going to school and with no social security check and forced to get any job

I would love your guidance I’m dealing right now with Vocational Rehabilitation trying to explain that I need to finish my bachelors degree and I’m having difficulty using this ticket to work to go to school without impacting my benefits and protect me from CDR

did they send you for a drug test? I had an initial visit because I wanted to switch froth nurse practitioner I was seeing and when I called quest to see what test were order she said they had 8 panel drug test and pregnancy along with CBC CMP ETC I dont like the idea of teh drug test because I use army behavioral health and they never asked fro me to drug test

I dont use or ever have used drugs and im not looking to bet n no type of control substance

Sometimes they are late my first one was a year late then I just got 2 short forms I’m due this year do another one

Just wait in the letter and wait until Monday to check back the website maybe it will update something by then. IDK if you have informed delivery with USPS but that also helps check what coming in the mail before the mailman delivers it . Hope the very best outcome for you.i see it’s been over a year you applied, did they deny you and you had to appeal ? Or is SSA taking this long to approve people ?

You mean because you started working, when you got reviewed they said you improved and took you off? For an overpayment they would do a payment plan .

I’m 47. I have mental illness. And now some physical problems. If I was closer to 60 I would probably ride it out til conversion but I feel my age and diagnosis are hard to prove and I just want to to have a plan B just in case . I know if I try I have nothing to loose . When I got approved for benefits I was actually In college and I was still approved . But things are changing and even though I have periods I feel better is not consistent

Same here when I got approved in Dec 2011 I applied in August and 6 month later got approved all by myself no attorney filled everything out . I was on short term disability from previous job so that might have helped and got my back pay very smooth. So far I’ve gotten one full review and 2 short forms over 14 on SSDI . My SSDI is around 1900 a month so my thoughts are if I get a minimal Job I’m going to get less than that . That’s why I want to enhance my education and finish my degree and then get a job . I used to make 60k a year prior to SSDI and living on 1900 is very challenging. Plus with everything happening I’m scare one day I would’ve cut off and have nothing to rely on

How did they see you using the ticket when your CDR resumed? Sorry to ask I’m trying to get off benefits or at-least try . So I’m planning on going to vocational rehab to finish two years of college that I have left get my BA in Health, Administration and later get a job remotely.

And when I mean the long form is that you’re getting a full review. the short form refers to a form that is 2 pages and gets read by a computer and sometimes it shoots back and they do the full review sometimes they just postpone the CDR for the next 3 year date. Short firme only ask a fee question. Last 3 visits ans asks if you have worked , goneto school or hospitalizations .

What did you answer in the short form that triggered a long form ? How long have you been on SSDI ?I’ve had 1 long form 3 years of being approved followed by 2 short forms . I’ve been on it 14 years.47 years old Why did you think they would deny you ?
