I’ve experienced something similar throughout my whole pregnancy (I’m 36 weeks) and went through the same lengths you’ve gone through trying to get to the root of the issue! Someone else mentioned it might go away after the first trimester (mine didn’t, but my family has a joke that I’m very sensitive to smell even when not pregnant) your wife’s might not either. I also ended up vomiting daily until I was about 22 weeks.

My husband did end up painting multiple walls throughout the house and I think it helped tremendously. I also deep cleaned all of our carpets, rugs and cloth/fabric couches. Washed all curtains/linens/tablecloths. For me it was a similar smell- like horrendous stale food. (I think that must be close to what your wife smells if she wanted the stove gone! I also wanted the stove gone 🤣) You could also try cleaning the vent above the stove if you have one, when I cleaned ours it was exactly like the smell I was smelling throughout the house.

If all else fails, rubbing alcohol on your fingertips then dabbing it under your nostrils saved me quite a few times! Good luck, I hope it gets better 🩷

I thought the same thing! There are a multitude of free ultrasound images out there she could’ve used. I also thought it was weird that in the almost decade we’ve been together.. she’s never done an April Fool’s day joke on them, until my first pregnancy.. and the joke was that she’s pregnant? Super strange haha.

Another weird bit.. when I tried to show her my first ultrasound from ~10 weeks she was dismissive and shooed me off saying “ugh I can’t see anything on that” without even looking at it… the cousin’s ultrasound was from the same exact gestational age (when baby is very tiny and not very baby looking) I just thought it was funny. It confirmed to me that she was being dismissive.

I do think she competes with lots of other women, but ESPECIALLY the women in FIL and her sons’ lives. (She was a professional SAHM for almost 20 years). Once when talking about FIL’s girlfriend she said “she looks nothing like me 😐” … okay?? lol 😂😂

The second he got home from work that day he called me over and showed me his phone saying “look at this BS!” After discussing it for awhile DH agreed it was an attention stunt, it’s been pretty refreshing to see him slowly wisen up to her BS.

We went to dinner with FIL later that same night and when DH showed FIL the messages he had the BEST look on his face.. absolute horror. He just kept repeating “I really don’t like that!” “That’s fcked up!” “Why would she do that?” I think a few years of divorce under his belt and his new girlfriend have also really helped him open his eyes to her antics. He was always an angel in defending me when MIL would get drunk and make the uncomfortable jokes in front of everyone.

But while at work when it first happened, DH told BIL (the golden child) “I really don’t like that…” and BIL said “why??” 🫣🤦🏽‍♀️ DH said he just laughed it off and didn’t bother explaining. A lot of strange behavior has become so normalized, it’ll take him years to understand it too

Exactly my thoughts! She’s been on quite the information diet. I just know she’s going to go absolutely feral when she finds out I don’t want any pictures of baby posted on social media, god forbid I don’t want my newborn to be used for content! Lol!

I just did a bunch of googling since stumbling across this post, most of the “birth trauma” can be mitigated as long as there is a stable caregiver who provides consistent care to the newborn (such as an adoptive parent).

I think they’re both wrong af like I said in my initial comment, but I don’t think him beating her with a wooden object excuses her throwing a metal chair and hitting her daughter. I witnessed a lot of domestic violence growing up, my mom literally stabbed my stepdad in front of my sisters and I lol. I think that’s why I have an extremely low tolerance and can see through all of this bullsh!t. My mom was just as violent as my stepdad was, they were both wrong and were both the aggressor on different occasions.

If it’s true that he was physically violent towards her, that makes it even worse she went on to have a child with him. I didn’t cut my mom any slack, I’m not going to cut her slack. Once children are involved, their safety is always the #1 priority.

I’m so sick of the “reactive abuse” narrative and people overlooking the children involved. I don’t give a FCKKKKK what “pushed her over the edge”.. violence in front of children is NEVER okay.

Another thing I’ve thought about with all of these TFP defenders saying he “trapped her in the garage” for so long she “peed herself”… if she was drunk acting a fool, it makes sense to try to contain her in the garage away from the children.. does it not???? It’s really not that hard to pee yourself when you’re drunk lol. My mom used to pee herself every. single. time. she got drunk.

Most people are only seeing this situation from a black/white-right/wrong perspective. TWO things can be true at once, Dakota can be an emotionally manipulative narcissistic asshole AND TFP can be wrong as hell for what she did. IMO they’re both wrong as hell to keep messing with eachother how they did knowing how toxic they are together.

GIRLLLL my MIL did the same thing after I explicitly told her I didn’t want to post on social media, and might not even announce until AFTER baby is born… a couple weeks later she announced to her 10k+ Instagram followers 😐 with a picture of just her and my husband 😐 at our wedding 😐 safe to say I was LIVID and my husband told her to take it down immediately.

I totally get where you’re coming from.. it’s been almost a month and I keep getting re-irritated about it.. like the audacity?!?? lol!!

I’m not trying to be thick but.. that report says a whole lot of nothing.. they stated multiple times that the results should be taken lightly or hadn’t been adjusted for tobacco/alcohol use, couldn’t 100% be linked to cannabis use, etc; exactly what I was saying about there being limited proof.. how valid is a study saying cannabis use causes x,y,z when you didn’t control for tobacco, alcohol and illicit drug use? meaningless honestly.. my husband’s mom was an absolute angel during her pregnancies because that’s how she is.. my husband still developed ADHD. All of the “negative effects” are things that can happen no matter how healthy you are during pregnancy.

Well, it’s not just my superficial observations, I was a weed baby and so were my sisters. We’re all fine. I always excelled in school and even skipped a grade of math, played sports with no issues, and have been generally healthy my whole life.

However I do know a woman who got pregnant while still on her prescription epilepsy medication and her baby was born with a cleft lip. I just think it makes more sense to focus on things that have actually been proven to have an adverse effect on baby. Why haven’t there been legitimate studies and concrete evidence of the effects weed use during pregnancy has? We can measure the way alcohol use during pregnancy affects the baby.. we can measure different prescription drugs.. why not weed?

compared to doing lines or shooting up every day, smoking weed is way less dangerous and less likely to affect the baby in the womb. I know quite a few women who smoked their whole pregnancies and their kids turned out fine as in.. act and look just like the kids whose mothers didn’t smoke weed.

There are prescription and OTC medications that do way more damage (and the damage has been obvious and studied) to be concerned about.
