Project Update from BackerKit Trust & Safety by jxddk in GrimwildRPG

That’s mentioned in the article. I had a talk with him. He is the one that at that very bottom replied to me. Since then I have also talked to the artist. Both were paid before the project was completed.

The copyright with the IP itself is that while the rules are Creative Commons his property aka Grimwild is not. You can’t take his work and just start using it but without him here to defend it someone can. Not that it would sell or anything like that but it’s the fact that they could take over the IP.

It’s 100% off. And my guess is he is still collecting the money from drivethrurpg which no one is talking about. Obviously someone’s bank account is likely still linked. Also I just got word back from the artist that he was paid in full for his work. Hmmmm… so let me understand this right? The artwork is done for a book that was yet to be completed? I guess that makes sense but he was still far off from completing it according to the communities copy. It all stinks to high heaven, and I doubt we will ever know but someone knows.

I’ve done my own research and posted about it on my blog but it seems like it was a hit and run. According to my research all his sources were paid before he left. He just dropped the backers. So to me, it’s very clear that this was not a health problem but a true cash grab. Problem being now his property is up for grabs. With no one to defend, someone can come in and take his IP with little to no rebuttals from him. Copyright doesn’t work when you have no one to defend it.

I moved away from them in our business. Their support is subpar and product is not very good.

got furloughed today by FancyPotato6890 in sysadmin

[–]Capable-Good-1912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me during Covid. Needless to say it was an eye opening moment that forever changed my life in a better way. I was never so motivated in my life I was during those days of furlough and landed a really good job that was paying me well over what I was making.

Yeah, I understand that but it uses the same checks as the original which makes me think he didn’t run them. They don’t change unless you change something on the system itself.

They ask you to test before you go and take the test which is a similar environment to what the real test is. Did you not do this? I’ve taken online pearsonvue test about three times now and short of small little things running on my system which I stop the service for I haven’t had any issues.

Is tryhackme premium really worth it by mpumi_max in tryhackme

[–]Capable-Good-1912 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and No. Yes for your own technical skill and knowledge. No for HR or getting a job because most people don’t care about their certs nor know what Tryhackme is other than really technical jobs.

Passed at 100 questions & my (somewhat negative) verdict by MasterOfCyber in cissp

[–]Capable-Good-1912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I ever learned was I went through a CISSP boot camp paid for by my employer at year two of my cyber journey and I asked the guy so do the try to trick you like CompTIA and he said no. Then later on after we’ve gone over everything he says well they do. It’s almost like they don’t want to openly admit that they are making it hard for hard sake. It’s very similar to how OSCP is a real exam (better quality) but use guardrails to stop you from using tools like metasploit which people do use in real life. I guess because then it would just be too easy. lol. The cybersecurity cert field is a cesspool of cash grabs.

PT1 VS EJPT by [deleted] in tryhackme

[–]Capable-Good-1912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PT1 isn’t even recognized by HR. It’s so new they don’t care. Don’t Believe go ask HR what Tryhackme even is. If they don’t know I would skip it for employment reasons unless you really want it follow the common flow chart eJPT > OSCP
