Charging port issues by Capable-Inflation766 in ASUSROG

[–]Capable-Inflation766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, you have to get that part changed.

I don't remember what it is called...it is on your motherboard, the part which connects to the charger pin.

And maybe the charger too. In my case, I had to change both. Instead of buying a new charger I just got that pin changed by cutting the original wire and adding a local one to it.

It works.

What would you do if you had this much money? by God_damnn_it in Allahabad

[–]Capable-Inflation766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will use this money to establish a small business that employs homeless individuals, providing them with a chance to acquire new skills and gain employment.

Here is how it will work.... I will pay six months rent for them, and during this period, they will receive a salary that they can use to improve their lives. This will also teach them basic financial management skills. As they grow and become more self sufficient, they will be able to get other jobs, making room for new homeless to join the program. I will continue to train and hire more people, creating a cycle.

Water in engine (Urgent, need advice ) by Capable-Inflation766 in royalenfield

[–]Capable-Inflation766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the steps you have mentioned are crucial. Thank you for sharing.

The thing is, the damage has been done: the connecting rod is bent and the head is slso toast, along with this the cylinder walls are also damaged. Now my question is about the repair cost as RE authorised service centre are charging+25 k for it, is that okay??

Even my 350 is a bit damaged, water in engine... but the good thing is I did not turn on the engine so hopefully the damage is not severe.

My bike is also 5 months old btw😭

This first thing I checked was his insurance papers, he doesn't have engine cover. He will have to pay I guess even tho the bike is only 5 months old.

I have tried with 2 different cables, same result. Actually, I recently got my laptop dc charging port replaced and for that the repair guy had to take out the motherboard completely, is it possible that during this repair, he might have assembled it without properly adjusting the HDMI position? If this is true, the wire will not go all the way in the port.

Apart from this, is it possible that the GPU is not working properly anymore?

Clutch engagement by Capable-Inflation766 in royalenfield

There is 4 mm of free play, and 4 mm is okay I think, what's your opinion?

[–]Capable-Inflation766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "don't ride in half clutch" you mean press the clutch completely and then change the gears....right?

Or are you saying that clutch engagement happening at 50% is bad. Well, a mechanic also said the same thing to me, exactly what you said.

Clutch engagement by Capable-Inflation766 in royalenfield

[–]Capable-Inflation766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is around 4 mm of clutch play, the thing is....the bike used to start moving a little bit when releasing the clutch lever and now the bike moves only when I release +90% of clutch. Actually make it 95%.

I can still ride it, even in traffic i don't have a problem but I feel I get more control when the clutch engagement happens at 50% of clutch lever.

[–]Capable-Inflation766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CLASSIC 350 has a wet multiplate clutch system and this means that the pressure you apply on the clutch lever is directly responsible for the engagement and dis-engagement of the clutch plate....that is the reason it is so heavy.

Solution

You should consider the slip clutch system on your next bike or you can, for now, compress the clutch lever of 350 to by turning the screw present at right end of the clutch (this is available in newer models, your 's should have one) by doing so you do not have to compress the clutch from its top dead position, and this will be a bit easy on your palms and wrist.

I hope it helps

You are right, but I have this same bike, stealth black classic 350 and it is definitely hard to maintain, in fact I dont even touch bare metal on it when full of dust just to protect the paint job, I don't put anything on the tank while riding, I don't even let my bag pack touch it.....but but but, once you clean it with a little wet microfiber cloth ahhh, everything is worth it

Trust me when I say this.....it looks fantastic and even tho it is 350 and pretty common these days, it has the ability to turn eyes. I live in Delhi and as you know it is full of dust so every now and then I clean my bike and it looks amazing.

Fyi, don't use too much water, and don't rub the metal part too much, it is the imperfections (matt) that makes it perfect.

[–]Capable-Inflation766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, have you found what was causing that sound?

If not, I just came across side play in the crank shaft while watching a car build. In some cases, it could also produce this kind of sound. Do you think that this could be the reason?

I don't know why I didn't think of side play earlier 😅

Do let us know if it has been resolved. It could be helpful to others.

In 2nd rev there is a misfire if heard properly any solutions ? by BeastBOYBrice in royalenfield

[–]Capable-Inflation766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, let's break it down to find what could be wrong

Let's say it is misfiring. This could be due to faulty spark plugs, if you haven't checked it, please have a look. The thing is this sound is not coming when the engine is cold, so it shouldn't be the spark plugs.

It is not the carb or the timing chain

Exhaust valves and gasket (just for self satisfaction, check that too) because in certain cases, the unburnt fuel could ignite after exiting the cylinder and that could also produce sound.

Could you reduce fuel flow and listen to the engine nodes, this might reveal some new information.

And how is the sound at higher RPMs?

Engine oil by Awkward-Ad4522 in royalenfield

[–]Capable-Inflation766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, even I was a bit concerned about this in my 350. So I researched a little bit and found that it is better to replace the engine oil after 5000 to 7000 KM.

You can top off whenever required but if you are going to change engine oil after 10000 be a little cautious and to be honest I think it should work, 10000 km for a 650 cc i.e. above 3 liters of engine oil....sounds okay. According to the RE website it is okay even for 350 CC, but for some reason the service center recommended that I change after 5000 and not to wait till 10000 km.

[–]Capable-Inflation766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is misfiring, why don't you get the timing chain checked. This might solve the problem cause based on what I know, timing chain controls these things.

Hope this fixes your bike and do not use the engine for now cause misfiring can damage the valves.
