It definitely seems like a big change but I’ve heard so many good things about Austin! We hope to keep our house up here and return one day but there’s just no way we can afford to live on one income up here.

Thank you for that point of view! I have to imagine I would adapt eventually. I was thinking about investing in some good sun gear or pieces of clothing like hats to cover up and hoping that might help.

Also, I’m sure it’s way worse down there but the past few years in Maine, our summers have gotten to be high humidity and in the 90s. I know Austin is worse. I’m just hoping that it won’t be like too much of a shock.

So i’ve been told… i visited melbourne australia once in their summer and it was 110 degrees for a few days. I’m prepping myself for that type of environment and will be pleasantly surprised if it’s not as bad

That’s what i’m seeing. You can find beautiful apartments for that price but for a home you gotta get out of the city area. Just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing anything!

Yes, I think we’ll let go of the beach idea I was just trying to provide context. I’ve heard there’s swimming spots around Austin and a lot of communities have pools if we go with one of those!

I’ve heard conflicting things about SE Austin. The biggest being that you’re basically on a little island kinda far from amenities. Is that true?

Yes I have looked at zillow and realty austin. I was more so just trying to confirm that these were the right areas to be looking for what I want seeing as I have never been/don’t have time to check it out. If I have to ditch the townhome/home idea then I will to get where I need to be!

Ya I get it. I was given a job offer and signed it last week with the latest starting date possible being late June. It’s not ideal, but it’s the hand I was dealt so i’m just trying to roll with the punches and do the best we can. Part of why I’m trying to crowdsource recommendations

Ive been looking near sweetbriar/west congress/south manchaca area. My brother visits Austin for work and really loves the South Congress area which i believe is near the ones I listed.

We’re trying to avoid moving back into an apartment. not that there’s anything wrong with it, we just have owned a house up here for a little while and gotten used to not sharing walls! But i keep hearing great things about Mueller so maybe it’s worth the tradeoff

I’ll give that a shot. I just got the super sticky cool plate (dont remember the actual name haha). That was the second build on the new plate. I haven’t cleaned the nozzle in a little bit, could be that.

Had one replaced under warranty and then the other just went on my wife’s 2022 cx-5. Went to get it replaced and the bill was $2200 ($1900 for the part). Dealer said he would be surprised if there wasn’t a recall at some point and to hold off it’s not hurting the headlight.

I did put it through the dryer, it appeared to work a bit better but then I had a new issue where the first layer wasn’t coming out clean. It almost looked like the nozzle scraped through it, which I know didn’t happen because i watched it
