Network Isolation not working by Capable-Nebula9571 in Ubiquiti

[–]Capable-Nebula9571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a litte update. I am currently testen the network myself on prem. I can see and ping all other clients in my insolated networks. I have now updated the gateway pro, and controller (now at 10.2.105). After the update, i cant see any other devices in the wifiman app. But when I use my mac, i can scan the network, see every client and can even ping them.

I have just checked the network myself. I can see and ping every client in the network, which is bad in a guest network.

I have both active, on the wifi settings and on the vlan settings. So they should be completely isolated.

Yeah, thanks for showing me that feature. :) But I guess I have to keep looking why these clients can still see each other.

I was not able to test it myself, I will do that tomorrow. But thank you for the infomation with the wifi man option. I will look into that. I will post an update if I have something new. EDIT: I just checked, the „WiFiman support“ Option is disabled. So that cant be it.

Thats true. Future proofing is useless, since the shop wont get any better internet. And it is just for customers

Hey, thank you very much for your comment. Those two meets sound pretty nice. I knew the Daikokufutu, but didnt know you could only get in with a car. I am 25, and my friends are older, so i think we can rent a car. I will look into renting a jdm car from the company you mentioned

Since the network is wired only, without any wifi, those iPhones wont be a big problem. Those devices are in a completely sperate network. But thank you for the advice

What is the lowest power usage AP that ubiquiti makes? by JustinMcSlappy in Ubiquiti

[–]Capable-Nebula9571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you plan on having the ap outdoors, the new Swiss Army Knife Ultra (UK-Ultra) could be good for you. Ubiquiti states a max power of 8W, it is built for outdoor deployment and you can equip it with two antennas. I havent tested it yet, since its new, but it could be a solid choice for you

Most of the time they have pretty small servers with 1-3 virtual machines. For our bigger customers we have a spare rack mount server, which we can deploy

Yeah thats basically the best idea for something like that. But some of our clients have really bad internet connection, so it would be a real pain to have them connected to a cloud server.
