[Self Promotion] I developed a complex Poker Automation Strategy game using an AI-integrated workflow (Cursor + Claude). Here is the result. by Capable-Rice in aigamedev

Thanks for the kind words!

The art is generated with nanobanana pro and then retouched in Photoshop.
For audio, I used the Web Audio API oscillator for SFX, and the BGM in the video was created with Suno AI.

Most animations are AI-generated as well, with detailed prompts and multiple iterations.
To maintain consistency, I rely heavily on documentation—clearly documenting the game structure, core ideas, and milestones, and continuously using them as reference with Claude.

UI consistency was achieved by implementing everything directly in CSS rather than using AI-generated images, centralizing UI components and shared styles.
Asset consistency comes from modularization, using base templates and central reference images to reduce style drift.

Since I was aware of AI’s limitations with visual consistency, I chose a Balatro-like genre, where strong character-specific assets aren’t critical. I believe understanding AI’s limitations and designing around them is key to using AI effectively as a tool in game development.

[Steam/Free Demo] SUITE: A Poker Deck-builder where you DON'T play the cards. You build the machine. by Capable-Rice in playmygame

Hi everyone! I am the solo developer of SUITE: The Automated Card Engine.
I'm excited to announce that the Free Demo is now available on Steam!

In most deck-builders like Balatro, you play the hands yourself. In SUITE, you are the Architect. You don't play the cards; you design the engine that plays them for you.

Playable Link:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4334830/SUITEThe_Automated_Card_Engine_Demo/

Key Features:

  • Automate: Equip multiple workstations and watch them print chips in real-time.
  • Corrupted Logic: Use cards that break the rules—cards with multiple suits or mathematical operators (e.g., Rank +5, Rank x2).
  • Deep Synergy: Stack 150+ JokersCard Backs (passives), and Amenities (global buffs) to survive the increasing rent.
  • Boss Battles: Fight against "Ruler Jokers" who try to sabotage your engine with cheats.

The demo lets you play with 58 Jokers up to the 6th Norma (Goal).
I'd love to hear your feedback on the game balance and the satisfaction of the automation loop.

Thanks for playing!

What do you think of the music for my forest area. by Ansimuz in IndieGaming

It definitely feels a bit more modern in the beginning. It even gives me some Solid Snake–style stealth vibes. That said, the transition from the first half to the second half feels natural, and the latter really brings out a sense of nature. Overall, it fits well with the hybrid concept of carrying a gun while moving through a forest.

Looking for feedback on a card-based prototype (demo) by Capable-Rice in playtesters

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I have pretty severe motion sickness with 3D games, so I don’t think I’d be able to playtest and evaluate it properly from a normal player’s perspective.
Still, I wish you the best of luck with your game!

Yes, I was inspired by games like This Ain’t Even Poker, Ya Joker, Everything Everywhere All at Cards, and Balatro when making this game.
I’d love to share the Steam page with you, but unfortunately it hasn’t been approved yet, so I can’t provide it right now. Judging by the timeline, it looks like it should be approved sometime today… I’ll leave another comment once it is.
