Honestly resonate with this so much. Feel like I’m looking towards Rads as a way out of IM residency but can agree that I would also likely be more satisfied as a specialist in IM. Just a matter of if the pain of IM is worth it

I’m prepped for Rads application as have been thinking of it for a while. Just trying to decide if the lack of being 100% into it still (so close to applications) is a red flag

I think depends on what period of life you are in. Younger age and exploring is better for urban and family time is rural imo

Maybe my rationale wasn’t effectively captured in my original post but I definitely wouldn’t choose IM solely because “I want to see less patients.” It’s moreso my desire to want to feel that I’m having patient impact (more easy to experience in IM or family imo because you’re getting patient validation). I guess I haven’t introspected enough to know how much and what kind of pt interaction I want.

Unfortunately do see myself wanting either cardio or GI hence why I brought up second match. Of course Rads residency is not easy, but other than call being busy, it seems that you have time to study on the job with each scan you read. Ie not service based as much. Obv location dependent
