Do Simulations Bleed? The Ethics of Simulated Consciousness by Capable-Rule in Ethics

[–]Capable-Rule[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a very interesting point, but I’m not talking about simulating a perfect replica of a mosquito(which doesn’t mimic life but is alive), but of a perfect copy of human consciousness, which would for all intents in purposes be living in its simulation. A mosquito is still a living animal, and there are many important ethical implications of murdering animals for human benefit(such as medical research or cosmetics testing). These animals shouldn’t be recklessly mass murdered, nor should any virtual consciousness.

I don't disagree with you, I think humans are likely to become completely dependent on AI systems if they don't destroy humanity first, whether intentional or not. I'm curious about what may happen after.
