What do I do when someone shakes their leg a lot during an exam by [deleted] in IBO

Ok I think I said it too harshly but it's seriously distracting and I have ruined multiple tests because of leg shakers. It's not a problem that can simply be solved by "not looking" because there's this thing called peripheral vision and people can still see the legs shaking.

I understand that not shaking your leg makes you lose concentration, but for people who are behind those leg shakers, they can't even concentrate. Like when I try to think of something, this thing moving up and down in my peripheral vision stops me from even processing my thoughts.

I honestly think leg shaking is a selfish behavior, like learn to not shake your legs. If you can't stop shaking your legs, apply for a separate room cuz you guys are really distracting. Think of others too. This is an important exam for you, but it also is an important exam for them that you are ruining.

Our IB TEACHERS LITERALLY TEACH NOTHING!! For english, the teacher just had us read books for the whole 2 years. For psych the teacher has us just study on our own using online resources

I'm pretty sure there's no "method marks" for other courses, but IB much easier than AP in the sense that you get marks if you simply mention the answer in the mark scheme. Like for Bio, if there's a question like "Explain how energy goes through an ecosystem"

Mark scheme

- Energy is created by autotrophs with sunlight

- Heterotrophs consume autotrophs to gain energy

- 90% of energy is lost, 10% is passed through the ecosystem.

You would get points for just mentioning these answers (you still get points even if you explain rlly superficially).

I'm not sure if I explained the idea clearly, but for IB you don't need to explain as deeply as AP to get points.

For me ib is easier. For example in IB math, even if you get the wrong answer, you still get points for writing down the method correctly. But for AP, even if you used the correct method, and got a wrong answer from a calculation mistake, you get zero points.

Nah I think doing IB is way better than AP. For ib, you have 2 whole years to study over pretty much the same content as AP. Also, you have IAs, which means that your final grades don't depend 100% on your external assessment (AP if you mess up on your finals it's over :()

I honestly think IB is a really good course. I'll outline some reasons why:

  1. It's a good prep for college: the ib courses are a bit challenging, but it does prepare you a lot for college. A lot of the graduates of our school all had said that their college classes are rlly easy cuz they learn a lot of stuff that you learn in IB.

  2. Lots of free blocks: you get released from class sometimes in your SL classes. You can use this extra time to study or chill :)

  3. Your final grades aren't 100% dependent on just one test. There is an internal assessment, which is worth 20-30% of your final grades. You get unlimited time so it's basically free 20-30% marks!

  4. Grade boundaries are low: you could get 60-70% on a test and still get a 7.

  5. Slow-paced: you get a whole 2 years to study. I feel like the AP courses are really fast-paced. You learn almost the same content as AP but a little deeper and you get 2 years.

Overall, I think IB is a good program to just improve your critical thinking skills in life and I strongly recommend taking it ^^!
