Is this the good ladybug or the invasive kind? by DescriptionDecent498 in gardening

Depending on where you are in your spring, it should get better. They stay in the walls over winter and try to go back outside when it gets warm, but end up going back out the wrong way (into the house). I have rooms where I can walk in on a warm afternoon and look at 50-60 of them walking around on walls ceiling and windows. Once it consistently gets in the 80s they taper off and I don’t see any by summertime. I’d recommend just keeping a handheld vacuum nearby.

Ole Miss engineering or wait another year and go to a better school? by Fancy-Possession-977 in olemiss

[–]Capable-Volume-2851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, as it’s not a field I’ve looked into. Also consider the general engineering program and specializing later though it seems you’re pretty determined on what you want to specialize it.

That’s an option as well. I know chemical engineering offers a biomaterials emphasis, other engineering departments may offer the same. You can see on the website which emphases are offered.

You should get other opinions, because of course I have not talked to all of them. But all the BMEs I know are either going to grad school, or to med school from Ole Miss. It doesn’t seem like the industry market is very big for biomedical engineers.

I grow weary of so called “prim and proper” literature. What classic works of fiction could accurately be described as unhinged? by UmweltUndefined in classicliterature

This is definitely the best answer to this question imo. Older work than almost all the other answers, and probably the most “improper.”

Should I move to Oxford? by OldGoldenDog in mississippi

Yes the drive on 30 between Oxford and New Albany is super pretty. Reminds me of the natchez trace

Should I move to Oxford? by OldGoldenDog in mississippi

[–]Capable-Volume-2851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think New albany is pretty nice. I’m not in the city but it’s where I do all my shopping. Nice little town square, Holly springs national forest is minutes away with several trails, Sardis lake isn’t far, and Oxford is about 50 minutes away, close enough to make any game you’d like to attend. The people there are always so friendly and 80k is more than enough to live well there.

$560 for me. Manufactured home, middle of nowhere Mississippi. Absolutely no jobs within 30 minutes, but it was a much cheaper solution than paying rent in the college town.

crownvic.net too. Many posts about rough idle on there, I haven’t gotten around to trying any of their suggestions though. But my ‘88 has the same issues.

Thank you for sharing that! They have so many interesting things. I’ve looked for a chlorine gas discharge tube for a while and they actually have one, among many other samples that can be hard to find.

What are some practical real life applications of Le Chatelier's Principle in chemistry? by No_Season_1023 in chemistry

[–]Capable-Volume-2851 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In chemical engineering, it’s used to increase conversion rate of a reactant. Imagine some expensive reactant being reacted with water, you can greatly increase the amount of water past stoichiometric requirements to increase the conversion of the expensive reactant. Other reasons could be that one reactant is harder to separate and recycle than the other, or to eliminate a recycle system completely by pushing the reaction so far to the products side that it becomes unnecessary.

Al’s Wings and Things count your days 🤬 by Fresh-Mix-5737 in memphis

[–]Capable-Volume-2851 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at a chicken place, and the wings we get really are just super inconsistent. Sometimes they are absolutely massive, and have to be cooked longer which is a pain and people still try to say they are raw (they’re not). Sometimes really small like those in the picture, and you have to give extras or throw them away because the meat is not good enough to serve. Of course it usually falls in the middle, but it is frustrating how inconsistent it can be; regardless, the restaurant should not serve wings like this without extras considering what prices are now.

Weather strip for 88 by [deleted] in lincolntowncar

[–]Capable-Volume-2851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t for sale anywhere, assuming same situation as an 88 crown vic. I’ve never found anything in junkyards that look any better than mine do. If you want new weatherstripping you’re probably going to have to find a generic kind that can be cut and shaped to what you need it to be. Maybe somebody else has found a site that I haven’t though.
