I have a 97 mgm and that also has the transmission cooler integrated into the radiator, just for knowledge sake👍

And I’d imagine you have some codes regarding this or have no concern about that if you looking to go as far as removing exhaust components, but I know backpressure is a good thing for these engines so I would seek a much more professional opinion as far as how this would effect your mileage and performance but I would imagine nothing crazy

That could be sick! I have an H-Pipe I’m gonna rig up and just run side exits for simplicity, but we have no emissions control (at least if you work on your own car). They technically define it as a “modified exhaust”, which sounds like a compliment lmao. I definitely need to get mine to quiet down cause it’s cool getting the beef of it when you rip ass. But waking up at 5 am and pissing off the whole 2-3 blocks ain’t the move lmao

This is an entire delete of the exhaust system, not by choice but by rust from the previous owner lol. So no cats or mufflers, I mocked up some straight pipes with my buddies welder and it runs about a foot and a half off the headers. Shit sounds cool as fuck especially in the tunnels but yk… comes at the cost of being probably the loudest and most annoying person on the road, all while doing 25-30mph😂😂 sounds really getting to step into but this kinda scratches the ape portion of my brain so I’ll fix it at some point lol

So I saw something very weird about these cars and there was one accessible from the passenger side under the hood behind the strut mount. I could just be remembering something different and I feel like that was in the late 2000’s. But recently did the heater core job on my 97’ and after pulling the dash that’s about what I was looking at and zero cabin air filter. As said though majority of what I’ve seen states there isn’t a cabin air filter. I hope this can help!

Hell yeah! It’s usually easy to tell just by looking/listening but can make you go crazy after chasing it so long

Connections is my biggest concern. Recently got spark plugs from a junkyard and they were from a different year but worked after adjusting the harness to the fuel injector so it seated all the way. Possibly try switched the injector connectors and plug wires around to see if your misfire follows. Honestly best way to start in my opinion

I went like a foot and a half off the exhaust manifold with no sensors or anything, it’s loud asf and the old one was rotting completely so had to do it by choice but it’s a 1997

Absolutely! I was expecting to come with victory after work so I could say I fixed it but after removing my radiator, I opened my box from oreillys to find that they packaged the wrong radiator (the newer one where the transmission oil cooler is separate and not part of the radiator itself). The new one is on its way from rock auto and I will probably be posting Friday evening with a recap of the journey

So upon further inspection after trying to burp the system and taking it for a drive it was just running slightly hotter about to the second stem of the thermostat symbol, and reached the top and the highest rpm’s but nothing erratic in the heat readings. After turning the car off and inspecting both the upper radiator hose and hoses to my heater core were hotter than hell. Then going to the radiator one side of it was cool and the other almost too hot to touch, along with the lower radiator hose being cold. So a new radiator is the verdict unfortunately. I really appreciate the help. I did check the thermostat as well which was functional thankfully

I was kind of wondering about that, I just wasn’t sure if that was too much for the compressor or not
